First trading day of 2025. TSX up and S & P 500 down.
Could the TSX finally get some years of outperformance?
Discuss.
with US valuations high, it's unrealistic to think it can continue such returns in the near future, thus has lower expected returns.

with a more dovish BoC relative to the Fed, yes, it could outperform in the short term.

I think we would need to see some good growth from China.

I'll add thats why it's good to be invested in a mix of index funds like the xeqt, not just the sp500.

Agreed. I have a fair amount invested in Canadian stocks since they’re relatively cheap compared to the valuations in the U.S. market, thus more room to run. I suspect Canadian resource stocks will do well in the future also, if Pierre Poilievre gets elected this year.
