Is it just me or is there an unusually larger number of SWers announcing their upcoming retirements? Britney from AT/PS, Vegas and Lana Ray from CMJ, Olivia Eden, Mariah Everly, Mia Madison and those are just from my memory. Obviously wishing these ladies well in the next chapter of their journeys but it seems like there is a bit of an exodus happening here. Or perhaps it is just that these ladies are letting us know that they are leaving whereas others have just vanished.

I cannot speak for others, however I was slowly retiring for the better part of the last half of this year. I did for a few months as I went out to BC briefly and between juggling my full time job, I simply didn’t have the time to also do SW without cancelling last minute and I didn’t want to do that. I’ve always said I’ll do a few pop ups when I’m in the area and also have a break from my civi job!
It seems to me the bigger the retirement announcement the more likely she returns.
Please do those pop up shifts soon. I never had the chance to see you and regret it lol

The only "strangeness" might be the announcements??? I get it that most providers stay for a relatively short period of time (as compared to other vocations) but it seems like more are announcing their departure.
Bittersweet to see as you hope for nothing but the best for them but also know that you will never see them again. I have seen Mia Madison many times over the years and she was my go to when I needed a pick me up. She will truly be missed but, in our last meeting, she explained that she had some big changes coming. Guess this was it.
I agree that the SW biz has changed. By that, I mean it's getting crazy $$ to sustain as a frequent hobby.
Also, it seems like the scammers are taking over - I figure LeoList is 85-90% scammer ads.
Must be hard for an honest SW to make a living.
It does not surprise me. For me at least, inflation has made everything from groceries to gas so unaffordable that there's no cash left for the "hobby". Business is likely drying up and they have to work harder just to get clients in the door.
Just legalize it and see what happens. IDGAF.

you can tell by posts how many others on here are resentful these ladies make money doing this line of work.I’ll say this, a lot of guys in the city have scared away very good providers from working here with their frugality. I heard this complaint directly from a girl who I was a regular with. She also pointed the figure at you public servants for being insanely frugal.
Does anyone wonder why several agencies have left Ottawa? A few years ago, I heard similar comments from a SW along the lines of guys agressively trying to "bargain" rates, but also not always respecting boundaries, complaining if they have to shower when arriving at an incall and generally acting entitled. She admitted that this sort of behaviour was not necessarily limited to Ottawa, but the feeling among her cohorts was that these issues were most prevalent in Ottawa, so the result was many women took Ottawa off their destination possibilities.
I have a regular lady that has worked in Europe and Dubai and she said the worst clients are Canada mainly Ontario. For disrespect, dirty and cheap.
It is interesting how Ottawa gets a bad rap. There must be some truth in the theory that the ladies simply do not enjoy coming to Ottawa because of the clients that they get here. I am in TO and just looked for someone to spend some times with. Cost is very similar $400 - $600 per hour ($300 for the risk of LL) yet cost of living is quite a bit more so either Toronto gets a discount or ladies are making sure it is worth their while in Ottawa.
Regardless, I have always said that the ladies 100% have the right to charge their rate so I will never try to negotiate it. Likewise, I have a budget and stick to it so there are certain prices I simply won't pay. I would expect that to be respected as well. I appreciate that not all things are equal and I do have the privilege of indulging 3 to 4 times a month but I stick to a budget and play within my means. I have met some wonderful ladies with this approach and like to stick to a regular or two. However, I also acknowledge that I have missed out on some amazing experiences as well but such is life.

Ottawa folks do not have any excuse. It’s luxury not a right. If you don’t have the means don’t be sting and try hawk for a discount. It’s not a bazaar. The prices are fixed. Especially considering it’s public servants! You know your budget right away considering you have the most job security.
Always kick myself for not booking a provider who retires whether I have seen her in the past or just never pulled the trigger. The good news is that I find it has never been easier to find someone new at a price I am comfortable with.
There will always be horny men and there will always be women willing to accommodate us. The market will dictate what that price should be. I find there are many providers out there that offer awesome experiences at a price that works for me.
There are providers that command a high price tag and that is their right. It would make sense that they eventually price themselves out of the Ottawa scene and retire instead resetting their price.

I agree with your theory. I think that the concern is that some of these guys are not simply cutting out on their discretionary spending but trying to force their financial struggles on providers by negotiating or haggling with them. Like another poster said, this is a luxury experience. If you don't have the funds, move on. Don't create an environment that makes the ladies not want to work here and ruin it for the rest of us!

I don’t think they lower prices as they most likely factor what is worth it to do this work. I imagine they set prices as what they think is worth servicing us punters. You may think 500 is high…or even 250 whatever it is that’s what she decided she will accept in order to suck a dick.
