i just wish i could hold her once again in my arms and dance to this tune
as a teen i bought 2 of his albums,,,The New Boss and Live and Lively....and still have them to this day
i have also 2 singles,,,this one and I Gotcha.......
He died in his late 40s of a heart attack
I just found out that O'Jays legendary singer Eddie Levert had another child of his pass away. His 22 year old daughter Ryan passed away yesterday from complications due to Lupus, an autoimmune disease. In 2006 he lost his son Gerald at the age of 40 due to a heart attack and in 2008 his son Sean passed away at 39 of sarcoidosis, an inflammatory disease that attacks the lungs and lymph nodes. Losing one child is tragic enough but to lose 3 is really hard to comprehend. Eddie is still going strong at the age of 82.
The group Levert which was comprised of Gerald, Sean and their boyhood chum Marc Gordon, had a series of successful records from the mid 80's to the early 90's. This is from their 1990 LP 'Rope a Dope Style'

This one is a collab between father and son - Gerald and Eddie. Great tune
"Already Missing You"
And of course here's Eddie doing his thang with his group The O'Jays. One of the greatest R&B/soul groups of all time.
"Forever Mine"
