Two versions of "Got My Mojo Working'" by Muddy Waters at the Newport Jazz Festival 1960.

In the second version you can see Muddy dancing with James Cotton at around the 5:40 mark...

Muddy was "feeling his oats" that day!

112 was a dope group. They had a few hits, this was one. My favorite from them is this track from their debut LP

I've mentioned this several times on this thread, After 7 is my favorite R&B group of all time. This morning I've been listening to their self-titled debut album, released in 1989. Overall it has aged well but I've come to the realization that the 1st track "Don't Cha Think" is probably my least favorite of the 8 songs on the album. I dug it back in the day but I don't think its aged well, the anomaly.
"Don't Cha Think". Produced by Daryl Simmons and Kayo.

Rolling Stone stated in its review the album "benefits more from the ingenuity of producers L.A. Reid and BabyFace than from the skill of singers Melvin and Kevon Edmonds." That take has not aged well.

The timeless classics from this album are the two #1 charted songs "Ready or Not" and "Can't Stop".
"Ready or Not". Written and produced by Babyface and L.A. Reid

"Can't Stop". Written and produced by Babyface and L.A. Reid

But its track #6, "One Night" that goes down as my favorite from the album. Also written and produced by Babyface and L.A. Reid. Oh my gosh the vocals are outstanding, some of Kevon and Melvin's best work. I think the Rolling Stone reviewer must have slept through this one. ;)

This is quintessential 90's r&b. With a hip hop flavor. This is Angela Winbush from the 80's duo of Rene and Angela.

James Ingram was a serious talent. RIP 🙏
This is track #1 from his 1986 LP 'Never Felt So Good'. James wrote, sung and co-produced the album. He also played bass, synthesizer and drums on various tracks. The critics panned it but they once again got it wrong.

Aerosmith's classic featuring Run D.M.C.

Come to think of it, Steven Tyler was basically rapping on the original version as well, just over a more jazzy rock instrumental.
