I've seen Trudeau get desperate, but damn this is just pathetic and weak.

What he really wanted to say:

"Dear Canadians,
After years of letting immigration get out of control and hoping all these people we just let in will vote for our generous Liberal party, we're going to blame everyone else as to why this has messed up our country.
I know we have called people xenophobes and racists for dare suggesting that we control immigration before, but now that we're going to lose the upcoming election, controlling immigration is actually a good thing."

Typical liberal party. Blames everyone else for their fuck ups.
If you have been paying attention, the Liberals, knowing they will get turfed in the next election, have one by one been adopting what Poilievre has been campaigning on. Controlling immigration is one of these things.
Funny how a party changes its tune when they fear getting obliterated in an upcoming election eh?

Not going to to make a difference. The country is already Indian, too bad, too late. Even tiny towns up north near Sudbury, Atlantic Canada, Praires, Manitoba.

I heard Canada gives 10y visitor visas to Indians. Pregnant Indian women come here as tourists, deliver, get automatic Canadian citizenship for baby, either go back or claim asylum. If they go back, kid comes back as a Citizen 16-20 yrs later. That's already on top of normal legal intake of 1M+ ppl a year. Which is on top of asylum seekers not included in std immigration data.
Revoke the visa’s, cut off any govt support, and actively fine companies 50k a pop for employing illegals (start with Tim Horton). They’ll go back to India (or to whatever gay European country that will take them) pretty quick.

Fixed it for you.
Dear Canadians,
After years of letting immigration get out of control, and causing all kinds of problems, we are going to blame an unknown culprit and promise to reduce the number of migrants by fast tracking citizenship in time for the next election.

It is all lies anyway.
He is not pausing population growth like his animated graph showed.
If you look at the actual numbers he has proposed it is (and I may be a little off here): 1.1M in 2025. 1M in 2026 and ~950K in 2027.
The number of deaths in Canada is on an average 350K per year.
Number of new births in Canada is also 350K per year.
So that cancels out.
Please do the math and tell me how this is a "pause" on population growth? lol

Honest question gentlemen and ladies, do you believe that a new PM (likely PP) will fix the issues? I will vote against Liberals (not sure who exactly yet), but i don't believe that we will see a big change.
The bigger question is what is a legitimate solution to the problem we're facing. If there isn't a reasonable solution available then it doesn't matter what party is in power. Common sense would say that putting immigration on pause until a permanent solution can be found would be the first step in the right direction.
