Remember that for any crime they commit, it is their second offence, since being in the country illegally was their first crime.

Of the 11M illegal immigrants currently in the US the ones who do not commit violent crimes should get to stay.
The violent ones should be deported.
When law enforcement catches a violent criminal they'd know the perpetrator is undocumented.
Then deportation proceedings can be started against that person.
Otherwise leave families alone.
