In the real world you can generally walk away from total asshats, you can't on forums. Sadly terb is the only viable game in town.

I find I am very different on line than I am in person. I used to be much more argumentative in person, not insulting but I'd go into detail why someone is wrong. Over time it's obvious it is a waste of time and now in the presence of retardation I usually just shut down. Anything I say can and will be used to annoy me. It just isn't as easy on the internet, those words just linger there. Again it is a total waste to argue the point, it's just easier to call someone an idiot or a retard and be done with it, Get that cathartic release, and there are people who are just so far beyond the bend that they are not worth engaging in, both left and right.

I gave the example of my sympathy for many in other countries. Not just the US but I’m not going to get emotionally invested to the point where I would have celebrated a win or mourn a defeat in an election of a country that I can’t do anything about. Sympathizes for the people - sure but that would be as far as I would go. Saw this heartbreaking story of workers that all voted Trump. Their company made a meeting to explain that they won't get any bonus this year because the company has to purchase 2yrs in advance to avoid tariffs. Oops!
