Passing legislation and spending money isn't all there is to the Federal government. It should be challenging though. (In the case of Trudeau, hire a mess of people at the Federal level.) I look for the Administration to run the federal bureaucracy (that's what it is) as best they can. This includes the Federal regulatory bodies. The Executive runs our foreign policy which as the American President gets him involved in almost every global situation.Didn't he have the house and senate in 2017? I feel like he did. And, [checking notes] couldn't do fuck all with that. No repeal of Obamacare, no border wall, no infrastructure bill. Will it be different this time? Sure, maybe. I mean, the last congress did absolutely fuck all except eat its own, but they are more ideologically aligned.
But, we'll see how it all turns out. I suspect there are going to be many new members of the leopard ate my face party in the coming year. It will be interesting to see Trump claim credit for the infrastructure bill Biden passed, or the strong economy. I guess we'll see what is a failed ideology.
The strong U.S. economy is cyclical. I suspect we will have a recession next year. It might be fortuitous for Trump to have the inevitable recession early in his term. If the Liberals are thrown out of power, your successor government will benefit as well from the economic cycle. That's just the way the ball bounces.
