Right to vote for sure, but I'd say no felon should be allowed to run for any election.
I basically see voting and running as one in the same as part of a person’s rights in a democracy.

if the actual citizenry decides that they don’t give a fuck about whatever those convictions might be then that in itself is a very important demonstration of democracy in action.

Actually I didn't say anything about U.S. tariffs on Canadian products.

I'm sorry that our relation has deteriorated so much that you want to tell me to go home.
Not telling you to go home, more like saying that you can enjoy all the benefits of Trump's tax rebates to the wealthiest Americans while dishing out the crumbs to those on minimum wages

Not so sure which other tariffs your are then referring to?

Did Trump not promise tariffs against Canada as well?

Nope don't let this clown anywhere near the white house. He's a trojan horse.
Cuban already has a book deal lined up if he can get close to Trump's White House.

I am never a fan of third parties, but I have a question.

Is there any possibility that the Liberals lose relevance enough that the party simply starts working so closely with the NDP it creates a defacto two party system opposing the Conservatives?
They tried often. Always failed. But we never know. NDP was opposition leader few years ago. Even the Bloc before.

Multiple party is hood We have 5 in quebec. It
makes division among ppl less extreme.

DOJ moving to wind down Trump criminal cases before he takes office

The step complies with long-standing Justice Department policy that a sitting president can't be prosecuted, two people familiar with the matter told NBC News.

Justice Department officials have been evaluating how to wind down the two federal criminal cases against President-elect Donald Trump before he takes office to comply with long-standing department policy that a sitting president can’t be prosecuted, two people familiar with the matter tell NBC News.

Yeah sure...you'll need some new material for this term. The doom/gloom tactics didn't work. Lawfare didn't work. The race card didn't work.
Let him govern and judge him by his accomplishments and failures and not by words you just don't like to hear and someone's appearance you can't tolerate.
As a Canadian, I will have a ring-side seat to what is going to happen. It will be quite interesting to see what happens after his inauguration. I'm waiting to see him end the wars in Ukraine and Gaze as of January 22....He did say 24 hours. I guess he never specified which 24 hours...

You have to look at this as a negotiating stance. He said so as much, but it doesn't help to emphasize that to your problematic trade counterparts.

Does it mean the USMCA gets thrown out? Or does it just mean he's going to hold Mexico to the agreement?
We'll see. And, to be honest, I only really care about the impact his administration will have on Canada...

'' but lacks lacked the ability to get them through congress.''

the republicans have the oval office, house and senate
you are not keeping up to speed with events

understandable as you likely put your underwear on backwards, combed your teeth and scrubbed your hair with your toothbrush this morning

your discombobulation must be painful knowing your loonie left fantasy has been crushed in the USA and will soon be obliterated in Canada
that's the cost of blindly following a failed ideology
Didn't he have the house and senate in 2017? I feel like he did. And, [checking notes] couldn't do fuck all with that. No repeal of Obamacare, no border wall, no infrastructure bill. Will it be different this time? Sure, maybe. I mean, the last congress did absolutely fuck all except eat its own, but they are more ideologically aligned.

But, we'll see how it all turns out. I suspect there are going to be many new members of the leopard ate my face party in the coming year. It will be interesting to see Trump claim credit for the infrastructure bill Biden passed, or the strong economy. I guess we'll see what is a failed ideology.
