They are a strange middle ground that aren't accepted by Arabs as Arabs and because of politics, aren't referred to as Arabs in Israel but ethnically, culturally, and physically, Jews from Iraq, Egypt, or North Africa etc. had far more in common with other Arabs than European Jews. The decades in Israel since they were chased from their homes has resulted in their and Ashkenazi Jewish culture merging but it is fair (and IMO significant) to recognize Jews aren't all one cultural group and that Israel isn't a European country.

Absolutely. I would expect my Nan's Anglican church would boot out an extremist preacher and report them to the Archdiocese (if not the cops).
And yes, there a bunch of American extremists churches that aren't connected with any major sect that absolutely need to be reigned in. Except for the most extreme racists, most people approve when Westboro Baptist gets widely condemned for their extremism. The fact that people like vision will use any example of a Muslim to condemn the entire religion doesn't mean the Muslim community is exempt.

To me ethnic jews are those whose ancestors are ancient Israelites from the Middle East. Whether or not they are secular, practicing Judaism or another religion. European Jews fall into this category too. They too are descendants of the ancient Israelites. Whether or not they have mixed with Europeans.
Okay. That doesn't change the fact that many Jews have cultures very different from other jews.
