The tit for tat violence between Israel and Hamas has been going on for the entire 17 year blockade. It was exactly what Netanyahu wanted, which is one of two reasons he was funding Hamas. First to separate Palestinians and to avoid a unified Palestinian front and second, without being able to declare Hamas 'terrorists' Israeli apartheid would be exposed as the evil it is.
Oct 7 would have been exactly like the Hamas attack in 2021, which was in reaction a very similar attack on the Al Aqsa, except that Netanyahu moved the IOF away from the concentration camp walls and let Hamas get out for the first time in 17 years.
