Trump and Vance spread an unsubstantiated Facebook post vilifying a visible minority group in a small town for something they KNEW (because someone on Vance's team tried to fact check it and found out it was nothing) about. Then, instead of walking it back, like a responisble adult, they basically double down. And, let's remember, Vance even said he made things up to get media attention...
THAT is why Trump is being blamed and called out for not doing anything. It's his smooth-brained followers who are terrorizing a small community.
Without trying to take a partisan shot on this, I would say this is a good question. What to do? The vast majority of folks are not doing anything illegal (as in stealing, murdering, rape, etc.) Most are working jobs the average American doesn't want to do, and sending money back to family in the home country, heck, they even pay taxes.
Now, Trump is all about rounding up 12 MILLION people, which is a logistical nightmare and would be incredibly expensive. And, I've read some reports that the US economy would be seriously hurt if all these migrants were turfed, since they frequently get paid lower wages....So, that would probably be inflationary...
I think the so-called dreamers should have a path to citizenship...But for the others....I don't know. Deport them when they are found, especially the ones doing criminal activity...
