It has, to a small extent, happened here about 35 years ago. A drive by shooting in Pickering, I recall. An incident at a catholic high school in Downsview. I feel so sorry for the majority of the young kids attending schools these days.
Oh there are TONS of shootings in the area now. Things that weren’t even an annual occurrence when I was a kid are now almost weekly. The gun violence in the area has EXPLODED in recent years. Though it does tend to come in waves, so it’s obvious when gang wars are popping off.

The demographic for the people committing this gun violence isn’t the same demographic that commits mass school shootings though. Which I suppose ought to be taken as a relief because we would be in serious trouble if they were.

So medication for mental illness is an issue now?

and if transitioning to female; there would be now testosterone. That is the point.
Medication is an issue if the nutjob patient doesn`t take it. There is one 40-ish dude near me that had a recent stay at the rubber ranch. He lives with his dad who has become a total arsehole from dealing with his son for years. Both are well know to police and paramedics. I understand there are substantial numbers of people just like the one we call " Nash The Slash ".

What I never really understood with these situations is why does a 14 year kid think going into a school and shooting up the place is an answer to any of his problems? Yes there is a gun problem and folks can argue about legislating it... but IMO the larger issue is what is making these young kids go into such a dark place to come up with this kind of action or reaction.

I agree with that.

I am a firm believer that if you know you have a mental illness you have a responsibility to yourself and to others to treat it just like any other illness. If you have cancer you get chemo, if you have a mental illness you do treatment and stay on medication

School shootings, like the Nashville shooting, are mainly done by white males with easy access to guns. The white males in Toronto don’t have that, so American style school shootings are unlikely to happen here.
Sadly it’s easier to get illegal guns in Toronto.

Why the question mark?
It would be a very interesting study. Of all mass shooters of the last 20 years how many had parents completely devoted to the gop?

I know a few hardcore leftist can piss us off by blocking a bridge, gluing their hands to block a road, show their tits at a rally (which is not always disagreeable) but shooting random people with a ruffle?? Not much.

Democrats love their guns too... It is an interesting question on political affiliation and these types of situations. With that in mind.... Based on location... The Sandy Hook shooter & the MI kid's parents are likely democrat leaning.

That's why I questioned the question mark. It's obvious, to me at least, that it is the right-wingers in general, not just trump Devotees, that are more likely to buy guns for their kids.

I was going to respond right wingers but didn't when I saw your reply. We were both basically thinking the same thing.

You're stereotyping, eh
Unfortunately, no. I am speculating, which is different. Yet I am 99% sure that I am correct.

Leftists have strong opinions. It can sometimes be a pain in the ass. Yet leftists are not gun lovers. We do not buy gun cultures. We prefer to drink tea ;)
