Very sad, so young. His Brother also passed away. No details on cause, but someone on the radio mentioned they were suppposed to be attending their Sister's wedding this weekend. RIP.

Kind of weird that they both died. I mean I guess if they were both going fast and didn't see a cliff or something, or they were biking beside each and got hit by the same truck or something.

What a crazy and tragic story. Apparently a dude who was allegedly drunk tried to pass two cars and mowed down the Gaudreau brothers from behind...

The driver, Sean Higgins, 43, is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and has been charged with two counts of death by auto, along with reckless driving, possession of an open container and consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Higgins told police that he had five or six beers before the crash and had tried to go around the SUV on the right side after thinking the other vehicle was trying to block him from passing. He told police his drinking contributed to "his impatience and reckless driving." Higgins failed a field sobriety test, according to the affidavit.

Both brothers, who were New Jersey natives, had been in the area to be groomsmen in their sister Katie's wedding that was scheduled for Friday in Philadelphia.

What a POS. Johnny and his brother Matthew were k*lled just hours before their sister's wedding. Higgins is facing two counts of second-degree vehicle mansla*ghter. When the judge explained how he would have to be in jail until next week, Higgins let out an irritated sigh. "So…I’m here until Thursday?" he asked. Johnny Gaudreau and his brother were biking around 8pm when they were hit from behind according to the New Jersey State Police. They were supposed to be groomsmen in their sister's wedding which was supposed to happen today. Johnny Gaudreau leaves behind a wife and two young children.

The accused appeared in court it was on youtube, the judge says he faces up to 10 years in prison. That's it, for taking away 2 lives.

This is fkn so SAD! Many of us here are big time hockey fans and know how good he was - so young, so sad and share the same feelings and can't even fathom to know what this family is going through. It's tough to lose a child on any given day but two. My god. May the Gaudreau family....I don't even know what to say - how can you find peace in this FKN story.
