Sandwich are one of the easiest thing you can replicate at home.
Tomatoes…
You happen to go to the market and find fresh snd perfect giant beefsteak or brandywine tomatoes? Just buy a quality white bread, mayo, pepper and there you go! You could slice thin old aged cheddar to it. Or if you have fresh avocado.
BLT
Or if you have some bacon?? Add lettuce and bacon to that great tomato and you just made yourself the perfect BLT. I mean for a north american is there anything better than a BLT?? Ok ok maybe a Club Sandwich
Grilled Veggies…
You have leftover bbq grilled veggies (asparagus, tomatoes, onions, peppers)… Just throw that in a bowl, add olive oil, balsamic vinegar, some oregano and put that between 2 slice of grilled sourdough bread. Delicious vegan sandwich.
Roast beef…
When my teens don’t pig out too much i love having leftovers roasted beef. Cut it thin, add thin slice of red onion, a mix of red vinegar, horseradish and dijon mustard, Watercresson salad on grilled fench baguette. so good.
Eggs...
Add caramelized onions to your regular egg salad sandwich
Chicken... Ham...
Here there is endless recipes... i love having tortillas... i can then chop the protein, add veggies i have in the fridge, cheese (ideally habanero or cheddar) throw that in a tortilla with ranch sauce. No one doesn't like that hehe
Deli....
You have leftovers of various cuts... Go deli style sandwiches. I like sub style bread, provolone or mozza cheese (real italian mozza will make it a perfection..), fresh basil, tomatotes and or roasted pepper and your favourite vinaigrette. A classic i could eat every day but i dont
Banh Mi....
One of worlwide most renowned sandwiches. I tried to make at home but gave up. Too much stuff. But when i get to a mom and pop vietnamese place i always check if they have Banh Mi sandwichs.
Tuna...
i find tuna sandwiches boring. So i will eat them on a bagel (every thing seasoning bagel), with cucumber, red onions, capers, lemon juice and salad or tomatoes... even sometime with cream cheese.
Meatballs...
you can buy meatballs at the grocery stores for pretty good prices. Throw that in a sub bread, marinara sauce, provolone cheese and pass on the oven at grilled. Just a classic.
Lobster...
after eating the tails with just garlic butter i prefer to eat the rest of the lobster meat in any kind of lobster roll. And advise, go easy with butter in your mix and serve it in a butter (grilled) french croissant!
