By deescalate, you clearly mean eliminate Israel and remove the Jewish presence.

You won't accept it but like everywhere else, there was the Middle East had ethnic violence and periods of repression before colonialism or 1948.

A look at history has me thinking Iran wouldn't be a democracy, at least not the kind we have.

The Pahlavis took the throne by a coup themselves in 1925 and despite the existence of a parliament, Iran was still a semi-autocratic state. It's also worth noting that the Shah was only briefly out of power between '51 and '53.

of course we could then add in the conflicting ideals sweeping the region at that time with the battles between nationalists, west focused progressives, communists, and Islamists and it is quite likely that simply eliminating 1953 would not make significant change to the themes there.

But it's easier to simply blame the UK/US and pretend that Persians/Iranians were just helpless pawns.

He's not afraid. In fact his post earlier in this thread made his opinion quite clear (just like the tweet he posted about the Jewish Lobby assassinating JFK).
