If Trump collapses from a stroke or a coronary in early September, won't the same situation propel JD Vance into the presidential nomination?
First, I suspect Vance would be subject to criticism of not being the people's choice. Probably from you in fact.

More importantly, your hypothetical relies on many of us suspending our belief that Biden was cognitively impaired months prior to the June debate. You and others can believe time caught up with Biden in June. Republicans will continuously remind voters of what appeared to be an effort from the Biden team and many Democratic leaders to conceal this decline.

Latest battleground polls have Trump beating Harris in all States except for Michigan

Electoral map

Kamala has so much work to do that I wouldn't give any poll much credence. The Trump campaign also has to find its footing post-Biden. I wouldn't start paying attention until mid-September.

I would support a Vance candidacy with my dying breath. A man that esteemed and accomplished deserves a chance to hump the WH couches.

I'm sure Biden was a senile as Methuselah throughout the last year or so of his tenure. And it's not the place of his staffers to act as whistleblowers and Joe himself likely doesn't realize how much he has deteriorated.

Trump's senile too.

So you're 0 for 2, Earp.

Agreed, but @squeezer seems to think Kamaltoe has this election already wrapped, so I have to bring him back down to reality

I think you're lost somewhere in this conversation. I'm just explaining to you how some will perceive the nomination of Kamala Harris and how it's fair to raise this point. Your hypothetical is a reasonable point, but Kamala's "coronation" is the reality.

Are you keeping a lifetime scoring tab between us? In fairness, could you let me know when the conversation turns to competitive scoring? Thanks.

No. But you made 2 off base assumptions as to how I perceived the issues around the nomination of Harris and Biden dropping out and I corrected them.

Let me toss something out there. It's a Republican "thing" to constantly cast aspersion at the Dems. That said, who do you think should have "blown the whistle" on Biden's cognitive decline before his disastrous debate?.... One of his junior or mid level staffers?... How far do you think that would have gone?..... Probably nowhere, right? It would simply have cost the staffer his / her career.

Someone more senior?..... Wouldn't the same issues of loyalty and "teamplay" be raised?... Again the complaint would have gone nowhere and the complainant's career would have been destroyed.

You think anyone with a still-viable career in the GOP is going to whistle-blow that Trump's as senile as a 20 year old blind and deaf mutt-bitch lying on the rug by the door?... They're not going to do that either for the same reason.

So spare me the finger-pointing.

Of course, I see this taking a daily pulse on the polls as a bit extraneous. We spent several months listening to people tell us how Biden has his shit together and he's going to beat Trump. Then BAM! It's Kamala and she's the second coming of Elvis.

All I can see is she got the race back to where it was several months ago. If I was a liberal, I would be wary of polls telling us it's neck and neck. I still think Trump under polls. I don't see 2024 be any different.

As far as squeeze, as long as he wears underpants I just kind of accept that he is going to don a cheerleader outfit.

I think you are alluding to something you have in your mind that doesn't show up in your posts here. Please explain. The score is 2 to 0 mandrill. Please let me know what game we are playing?

This is a uniquely progressive mindset. Politics is so confrontational. Why can't conservatives play nice? I'm sorry it's not reasonable to expect them to refrain from questioning Kamala's coronation. When you are sleeping in the barn, don't complain about the smell.

Did you really think this through? Groupthink is not an excuse. It's a plight. Perhaps I can have some empathy for junior and mid-level staffers. However, the Obamas, Pelosi, Clooney and other big donors with access couldn't call this into question? Really? Once one person who is impervious to backlash makes the case the dike breaks sort of speak.

You think anyone with a still-viable career in the GOP is going to whistle-blow that Trump's as senile as a 20 year old blind and deaf mutt-bitch lying on the rug by the door?... They're not going to do that either for the same reason.
Yes, I believe Nikki Haley and others have. The problem is if one is merely criticizing 2024 Trump because he sounds like 2016 Trump that doesn't really establish senility. It simply establishes competition or enmity. Which in itself is fair, but an entirely different thing.

By the way, glad you are a compassionate supporter of the blind and deaf. It's touching.

I guess that sounds like a plan.
Wyatt, I can call my contacts within the Dem party and ask if they would allow you to tie the bow on January 20th. We know the CONMAN won't attend so we need a stand-in. If you need a yellowish toupet, let me know and I will see what I can do. Phil can grow a beard and call out all the single ladies with cat calls, it will be awesome.

Too Funny and they want him to be the next President? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Hit the body with a very powerful light

He was already president. Given the the choice between the two, I'll take him .There's no better material out there on either side.
