Now you just sound unknowledgeable of how the world works. Stormy Daniels isn't depositing $130,000 of cash in a bank account. It would require special reporting for cash transactions. That's assuming Cohen can get a bag with $130K cash without drawing attention. I know maybe Trump could have told her to hide the money in a safe deposit box.

The entire problem with the NYDA's case is misclassification itself happens all the time. The penalty is a minor fine. I don't think anyone here would bet against it getting thrown out by an appeals court. The tell will be when the Judge rules on sentencing. He doesn't want to bring any more attention to the circus he helped create in his court. I'm guessing the big, bad felon gets a fine and probation.
I think everyone expects Trump to get a fine and probation. Not because the judge is "ashamed", but because that would seem to be tariff-normal for this type of offence.

You're not great w legal analysis, Earp.

It's a waste of NY State resources. Spend maybe seven figures to assess a six figure fine. I don't need legal analysis to make that argument.

Can we agree if this case is remanded back to the trial court the whole thing gets dropped? The NY D.A. will have no interest after the election. Sorry for being so cynical.

Tell that to John Edward's. But it's ok if hunter and Edward's are given ridiculous cases. Trump could have written it off as professional services like he does to Ivanka and the rrdt of his family but he was too stupid to do thst and afraid his wife would find out so instead he lied for a tax break and got busted

The entire justice system in every Western country spends huge resources and makes no money back, Earp. That's because it's one of those areas of government which is devoted to public security, not revenue creation.

Maybe you need the kind of "analysis" most of us got in Poli Sci 101 to get that.

I just presented facts. No need to give us a lesson on Western criminal law. If you feel public security is at risk because a politician made hush money payments, that's your entitled opinion.

There is always a cost/benefit trade-off in everything including things that some people believe are sacrosanct.

I think you forgot John Edward's case basically got dropped. It didn't help the Republican prosecutor left to run for Congress. Golly-gee, that's amazin' how that works.

Legal services are a professional service. Many times company records literally don't break them out. It's just classified legal and professional services.

By the way, this type of expense no matter how classified is a reasonable expense under tax law. I have heard this odd insinuation in media but it makes no sense.

That's why the gop wants to shut it down like all public services. We don't need police just more guns don't need busses buy a car you welfare case. Don't need food stamps get a job. Don't need no government just Trump and clarance telling people's it's illegal to get abortions and President's are kings.

Western society is not "at risk" because someone shoplifts or passes a bad cheque either. But laws have to be upheld and that costs money.

There are bad people in the world, Earp. And the justice system is there to ensure that people live up to a decent moral code. Trump is one of those bad people. So he was convicted and will be punished. That's all there is to it. Just like a DUI or a petty thief or a pervert who jerks off in public. Scum get taken down. End of story.

These are overstatements. There are clear, unambiguous victims. There are also ancillary impacts to communities and quality of life.

For example, you might think shoplifting at a large retailer isn't a big deal. Hey, they have insurance. No, they don't.....not for small losses. The small losses add up and the retailer closes a crime-ridden store.

Shame on you for being dismissive of a DUI. If you defend clients against DUIs, I actually respect your advocacy. As a citizen, I find DUI a very serious offense.

PS- I'll tell you what you edit that out and so will I. I feel that strongly about it.

I realize Trump emotions are strong. Do you understand that my statement was about fines and will be quantifiable next month?

I thought this Democratic VP Venn diagram was both amusing and insightful.

View attachment 347461
I thought it makes an interesting argument in a visual manner. I don't know much about Walz, but I heard he was a good politician although I could say that about others in the diagram. I'm sure the prog squad here will find this objectionable, but Democrats can't be progressive 24/7 without turning off voters in the center.

"Moderate white guy vibes" cracked me up. As appealing as Whitmer is as a candidate, running her on the ticket with Kamala doesn't really make a lot of sense. My opinion is that Whitmer realized this and she also wants a fresh start when she runs for the Presidency.

Ya it doesn't really help when the dummy #1 is caught in tape saying things like we need to get this done b4 the election of its worthless. Same as when he said all stars lies him have raped women for millions of years or he doesn't remember a single person fro his fake university ir fake charities

Contrary to what the left thinks, the MAGA movement is not extremist. They only think its extremist because they've moved hard left. For the life of me I cannot understand what's extremist about supporting a representative government that upholds the U.S. Constitution (freedom of speech, religion, due process and the right to bear arms) and secures the border with Mexico.
But MAGA doesn't support any of those things.

Wow imagine if he fucked a porn star while his wife was pregnant and wrote it off ad a legal expense

I am sure that all those voters who are single-issue about marital fidelity are now voting for Trump.

For those curious about the story - Harris's husband cheated in his first marriage. (With I think a teacher of his kid.)
That marriage broke up eventually.
He and his ex are on very good terms.
This was all long before he was involved with Harris.
Harris knows all about it.

Somehow this is supposed to be a scandal, though.

It's not a scandal of course.

People like the French just laugh at us all. I think Americans on all sides are tired of hearing about the sexual lives of politicians and in this case their spouses.
