It was a marginal victory by about 500 votes in a bye-election.

I'm not seeing it as a portend of much at all.

If this is true, and it comes to be, it's GREAT news for Canada.

Words cannot describe how happy this makes me. Now we just need to finish the job and vote that collosal douche right out on his ear and rid ourselves of the worst Prime Minister in history and kick his merry band of sychophants to the curb. Can't happen soon enough.

But I don't want him to resign. Oh no, I want him and his cheif bobble-head Chrystia Freelan to hold on to power by their fingernails with everything they've got and lead the liberals into the next election. I want this so that the liberals can be completely decimated and lose like they've never lost before. Hopefully even lose official party status (one can dream). I'm so sick of a party that backs a man who hates Canada, who accuses Canadians of carrying out a genocide, who has made it his raison d'etre to make us feel ashamed of our country and of being Canadian each and every day. A man who had done more to split up the country than any serparatist before him could have ever imagined. A man who is a traitor to his country. The liberals need to learn a valuable lesson and only in a nuclear destruction of the entire party will they learn such a lesson that nominating and then supporting a person like Justin Trudeau will have severe consequences and will result in their destruction.

Perhaps there is hope after all.

And do you want to know the worst part? I voted for this sock puppet in 2015. But I figured it out pretty quickly and I've never made that mistake since and I'm thrilled that rest of the small L liberal crowd is also figuring it out too.
Agree with all of the above, except......

........ Electing a value-less, whining fuck called PeePee, which is the necessary by-product.

If Erin O' Toole was leading the Tories, I'd be cheering as much as you.

It's not that it's a marginal victory though. (Which I fully admit.)

It's that last election in 2021, the liberals won 30 thousand to the conservatives' 16,000 and that they liberals have virtually owned the riding for the last 3 decades. I really wasn't sure that this was going to happen, but yesterday on CP24 they were interviewing people who were voting and this one lady, maybe 50 or so, well maintained, was asked about who she wanted to see win and her answer was, "anybody but Justin Trudeau" and I thought she so perfectly summed it up and that there is hope after all. People have realized what a horrible PM he is and he needs to go before the country explodes into shards.

THAT is the "portend" (good word by the way, I had to google that one, and it's applicable).

Oblivion
Can Poilievre get a majority without Quebec ? It increasingly appears so.

The thing with O'toole was that until the election, no-one, including myself, even could remember his name. He had a lot of ground to catch up on. No way Poilievre has made that mistake. And the thing I like about PP is that he is relentless in his attacks on Justin Trudeau and he doesn't let up and he thinks fast on his feet. Much faster than Justin who just goes into the memorized sound byte bag of tricks any time he's asked a question that doesn't involve sexual identity or gender.

It will be impossible for PP to be worse than Justin Trudeau.

Dude this was a Liberal stronghold riding for 3 decades. They continually won by 20-30%. If you cannot see this is a barometer for a wipeout of the Trudeau liberals you're either too stupid to vote or you're willfully being ignorant.

Why can't most liberal be just like you...some of them will stick to JT and his ilk to the very end...IMO the best step for the liberals is to just vote him out and rebuild their character...the condescending virtue signaling playbook no longer works...and they have nothing to show for but tax people to death... "the budget isn't balancing itself"

Breaking... Liberals lose their "safe seat" of Toronto - St. Paul's to the Conservative candidate Don Stewart. After counting ballots until past 4:30 a.m. Toronto time, the Liberals' early lead eroded away, and in the final 10% of polls counted the Conservative won the race. This is a big upset victory for the Conservatives and demonstrates that even the safest Liberal seats could now be doomed under Justin Trudeau's tainted Liberal regime. There will no doubt be renewed pressure from the Liberal back-room power-players to force out Trudeau, but will he go quietly? Or, will Trudeau stick around and implode the Liberal Party, as they so richly deserve? Game on.
