Big whoop. Balancing the budget is less important that taking care of the people. And also this is a cherry picked rightie lie to pick a few words out of context as if these idiots have any clue about anything. Here is the full quote:

"The commitment needs to be a commitment to grow the economy, and the budget will balance itself. This way [the way the Conservatives were doing it], they're artificially fixing a target of a balanced budget in an election year and they're going through all kinds of twists and bends to get it just right, and the timing just right in the announcement. And that's irresponsible. What you need to do is create an economy that works for Canadians, works for middle class Canadians, allows young people to find a job, allows seniors to feel secure in their retirement."

Nothing Trudeau said there was wrong.

Yes you know the talking points without the fact checks. That's pretty much it. Thanks for proving my point.
Nothing wrong? Out of context?
There was no context because he was speaking nonsense to make his supports feel good. All he did as usual was blame conservatives and say the budget will balance itself without explaining how that would happen. Everything he said after that has nothing to do with balancing a budget. It's vague motherhood statements to appease the uneducated.
btw he said "the budget will balance itself" by 2019. He missed that target by $20 billion.

You take care of people by balancing a budget so that there is more money going to people rather than paying off the interest on debt. He's had a decade to do that and has failed miserably.

And guess what...10 years later, the budget has not balanced itself.

The rich are already being taxed more than everyone else, so no, that's not the answer.
No, the rich pay a lower percentage in taxes than the poor.
If you make bank off of capital gains you only pay tax on 63% of your income, if you work at McDonalds or as a plumber you pay tax on 100% of your income.

Yes...you can find work or start your own business by being innovative to earn a living by investing in yourself.

And let's be honest here, homeless people aren't homeless because they can't earn a living...they are homeless due to things like mental illness, addictions, and factors such as war or disasters, etc.

So your "roof over your head" scenario due to income is a stretch and an extreme example. Be honest.
Wrong twice, if you're homeless you can't get work.
And if you are homeless because of mental illness, including addiction, why shouldn't the state take care of you?
You just want them to die in the streets?

Hydro 1...province owns 47%.

Now back to the question... If the model of Ontario Hydro worked so well, why did they get rid of it?
The last time we had private hydro in Toronto the guy who ran it made so much bank he built a castle.
Castle Loma.

Check what's happening with electricity prices in Alberta to see how well your fantasy works.

You mean if all people who were successful would just hand over their hard earned money to someone else we would all be better off?
In other words, the basis of communism.
Disagree?
Prove otherwise and not with just a few words. Really explain how punishing people because they have greater wealth is a good thing and how that differs from communism.
You want to turn Canada into a giant game of Monopoly.
Where the rich control the bank, set the rules and get it all.

That's what am asking you. If you shouldn't tax the rich what is your solution to a) Take care of Canadians b) Balance the budget.

Go ahead. You are criticizing Trudeau.
No easy solution. Given the level of government spending and the
size of national debt having a balanced budget would be years away
and not a chance a substantial fraction of our debt will ever be paid
off irrespective of which party is ruling. The best we can do in the immediate
future is to vote for a leader who has the political will to reduce
spending substantially without causing unduly pain.

So you tell me, what is the alternative?
For Trudeau and his Liberals the alternative is merely to
spend less of our money than he has spent. That is not
a solution but at least would not have worsen the problem.

Reducing spending means cutting services for citizens who most need them. As I said balancing the budget is less important than taking care of citizens. That means spending. Your quality of life is because of government spending. Not because of private corporations.

The rest of the quote was meaningless. It explained nothing about how the budget would "balance itself."
You are talking about the same guy who said "the economy is not numbers, it's people".

But keep making excuses for this soon to be ex-PM if it makes you feel better in the meantime.

Lol now you're saying people who make a lot of money pay less taxes than people who make a minimum wage income?
hahaha you're delusional.

The argument that was being made was that homelessness was caused by low income. It's not.
Try and keep up rather than jumping into other people's discussions and missing the point entirely.

If you're going to jump into other people's discussion you should read what has been said to get the right context rather than blurting out irrelevant comments.

No I want to live in a country where people like you don't post fake comments by Jodie Foster and try to peddle them as fact.

I also don't want Canada to turn into a Communist state like you do.

The cherry picked words were meaningless without the rest of the quote. And when in seen in context of the quote, it is clear that it is being used as a soundbite by desperate righties.

You are the one calling him out. So you should at the minimum know what you are talking about. But that is not the case here.

Nobody wants to turn Canada into a communist state, that's skoopid.
You fall for the same line from the people who own you every single time.
