I only saw a couple of shows there, (Steve Earle solo, 1987 and Foo Fighters, 1995).
I think History is Toronto‘s newest concert venue. I‘ve only been once but was really impressed with the layout and sound. Have you checked it out? Is Mod club is around? There are many live music venues in Toronto, past and present, where I've never seen a concert. This includes Maple Leaf Gardens, Air Canada Center/ Scotiabank Arena and SkyDome/ Rogers Center - my arena and stadium rock days were spent in Montreal.
My favorite venues, in no particular order: Danforth Music Hall, Massey Hall, Masonic Temple/ Rockpile at Yonge & Davenport, The Mod Club and The Great Hall/ Longboat Hall at Queen St West and Dovercourt. If I had to pick only one, I'd go with The Mod Club.
The Mod Club has closed. I also enjoyed a few shows at The Opera House. Among others, I saw G. Love and Special Sauce there twice in mid-late 90's, and The Jim Rose Circus Sideshow.I think History is Toronto‘s newest concert venue. I remember I loved seeing shows at the Opera house, We’d hit up Jillys after.
Notorious for one guy showing up early and 'reserving' half an acre on the lawn by spreading 40 coats/ towels on the grass.Come on guys.... the best ever in T.O. was the Ontario Place Forum.
I saw Gary Clarke Jr. at History a few weeks ago. Excellent sound.I think History is Toronto‘s newest concert venue. I‘ve only been once but was really impressed with the layout and sound. Have you checked it out? Is Mod club is around?
