There are many live music venues in Toronto, past and present, where I've never seen a concert. This includes Maple Leaf Gardens, Air Canada Center/ Scotiabank Arena and SkyDome/ Rogers Center - my arena and stadium rock days were spent in Montreal.

My favorite venues, in no particular order: Danforth Music Hall, Massey Hall, Masonic Temple/ Rockpile at Yonge & Davenport, The Mod Club and The Great Hall/ Longboat Hall at Queen St West and Dovercourt. If I had to pick only one, I'd go with The Mod Club.

Believe I saw someone there when it was the Diamond. Can't remember who though. Larry's Hideaway around the corner has been gone for quite a while. Now a dog park.

I think History is Toronto‘s newest concert venue. I‘ve only been once but was really impressed with the layout and sound. Have you checked it out? Is Mod club is around?
I remember I loved seeing shows at the Opera house, We’d hit up Jillys after.

The Mod Club has closed. I also enjoyed a few shows at The Opera House. Among others, I saw G. Love and Special Sauce there twice in mid-late 90's, and The Jim Rose Circus Sideshow.

The only show that I saw at Larry's Hideaway was Billy Bragg, late 1984 or early 1985. I listened to his Brewing Up with Billy Bragg album on cassette tape a lot in mid 80's, but I didn't follow his career after that. With many artists, one album/CD is enough for when I want to listen to them.

This is the CD of his early material, (Brewing Up.. plus EPs), and a REALLY good live show from a club in Finland, a few weeks before I saw him.

There's a 'pancake' restaurant where Larry's Hideaway used to be, (South side of Carlton Street, near Jarvis). The dog park is farther east.

I saw Gary Clarke Jr. at History a few weeks ago. Excellent sound.
