As of July 8, 2024, oral health providers will be able to direct bill Sun Life for services provided on a claim-by-claim basis without formally signing up for CDCP. This also means that, as a CDCP client, you can see any oral health provider of your choice, as long as the provider agrees to direct bill Sun Life for services provided under the plan.
Before July 8, claims will only be processed from a participating provider.

When booking an appointment, discussing care options, and
beforeaccepting care from an oral health provider, if you are covered under the CDCP you must:
- confirm that the provider will accept a CDCP client
- know your coverage start date and co-payment, if applicable
- ask your provider if there are any costs you will be responsible for above the co-payment before receiving care
- never pay for the full amount of the services in advance expecting to receive reimbursement from Sun Life, as this is not possible
After receiving care, you will have to pay any outstanding amounts not covered by the plan directly to your provider.
