Of the 312 movies posted in this thread so far, 303, (97.11%), have been Correct!ly identified - great work!

48 of 51, (94.11%), were
Correct!ly identified in the preview on pages 319 - 326, (@ 20 posts per page), of the Trivia-O-Rama thread.

I don't have a starting time for Round 4 yet, as I am still amassing the screen caps - 42 ready so far. I'm hoping that there will be more than the 104 in each of the first three rounds.

Round 2 Stumps, (with quotes from wikipedia):

e3nn78yj8.png

Post #399:

Meet the Applegates, (AKA The Applegates ).

The film focuses on a family of mutant shapeshifters from Brazil who have taken human form and settled in Ohio. Their mission is to cause a nuclear holocaust and human extinction.

Post #400:

The Ruling Class.

Jack assumes his place in the House of Lords with a fiery speech in favour of capital and corporal punishment. His colleagues applaud wildly, completely unaware the speech is the ranting of a lunatic. When seen through his eyes, his colleagues – singing "Onward, Christian Soldiers" – appear to be rotting corpses.

Post #466:

Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze.

Doc Savage's aides

Savage is accompanied on his adventures by up to five other regular characters (referred to in the 1975 movie and in marketing materials from the Bantam Books republication as "The Fabulous Five"), all highly accomplished individuals in their own right.

  • Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Blodgett "Monk" Mayfair, an industrial chemist.
  • Brigadier General Theodore Marley "Ham" Brooks, an accomplished attorney.
  • Colonel John "Renny" Renwick, a construction engineer.
  • Major Thomas J. "Long Tom" Roberts, an electrical engineer.
  • William Harper "Johnny" Littlejohn, an archaeologist and geologist.
Clockwise from upper left: Ham, Monk, Long Tom, Johnny.

Post #474:

Houdini.

A reporter named Dooley challenges Harry to break out of one of Scotland Yard's notoriously secure jail cells. Harry, who hired Dooley to issue the challenge, accepts, unaware that the cells do not have locks in the doors, but are mounted on the outside walls. Despite the added difficulty, the dexterous, determined Houdini picks his cell lock and appears on time for his next performance.

Post #453:

Fame.

Junior year

During a late-night showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the 8th Street Playhouse, Ralph encourages Doris to smoke marijuana.

Never would have gotten that one.

OK.
Don't think I ever saw that.

GODDAMN IT!
I should have gotten that one for sure.

@Valcazar: Somebody should have identified Fame. I think it was possible to identify Houdini based on the cap, without necessarily having seen the movie.

If I posted caps like this:

vlcsnap-2024-05-18-19h34m55s601.png

It's unlikely that anyone would get Cabaret, even if they've seen the movie more than once.

vlcsnap-2024-05-18-19h36m04s639.png

There's a good chance that no one here has seen White Slaves of Chinatown. If they have, a cap like this one likely wouldn't jog any memories.

This:

vlcsnap-2024-05-18-19h53m39s954.png

is too easy. It would insult the intelligence of people on THIS board to set the bar that low.

I am genuinely annoyed at not getting Fame from that cap.
Houdini I feel I might have gotten if i had seen the film.

Yes, the last one would have been almost insulting.

Friday, May 24 at noon will be the deadline to identify the three as yet unnamed movies from Round 3:

Post #777:

Post #819:

And just a reminder, reply with answers only to the original question posts. Unless a post or posts is/are deleted, their locations never change.

I'm working on Round 4 questions, and I'm hopeful that they will be ready to post by next weekend. There is also a strong possibility that there will be a Round 5, which will very likely have more questions with an above average degree of difficulty.

**************************Points table update #1***********************************

This is through post #384, before Round 2 questions were posted. It includes all
Correct! answers from Round 1, even if the Correct! answer was posted after #384.

There will be some minor adjustments, based on
Nope. and Too Slow. penalty and bonus points from Round 1 acquired/ lost after post #384.

Scoring:

+5 points for each Correct! answer.
-1 point for each Nope. or Too Slow. reply
+1 point for each Nope. or Too Slow. reply from a different player, when answering correctly.
No points are awarded or removed for a 'Regis' or 'One and a half lines of Robert De Niro' reply from me.

Note: Penalty points exceed bonus points by 1 because @Valcazar initially identified Iceman as Cliffhanger.

@unassuming - you laugh, but I seriously thought you, downbound123, and I were all in the low-to-mid 20s in number of right answers.
