Chicago and LA as well. All teams need now is a goalie who can hold the fort not conquer it. But then again how far would the Panthers have gotten last season without Bobrovsky
In the 2 games Woll started last playoffs he played Bobrovsky even. Won one lost one both by 1 goal.
It was Samsonov who couldn't get a win against Bobrovsky.

The Avs might soon find that out the hard way.
Georgiev's stat line GAA and SV% is not good but they are actually better than Samsonov's.

Like I said hold the fort. Sammy couldn't hold the fort. Not a good idea to use Sammy as a comparison.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with Robertson. I think next year will be the year when he either joins the team permanently, or is cut loose. The team seems to be less than enthusiastic with his development, and he seems to be fed up being sent up and down so much.

If this is the end for Sammy in Toronto, I hope the Leaf fans are kind to him when he returns with another team. He had his problems, but I don't think it was lack of effort or dedication. There's a difference between a player who is not that good but makes an effort, and a player who is talented but lacks dedication.

Maybe Babcock was right, the Leafs should've taken Hanifin over Marner.

The 2015 draft what a draft year, probably the best ever.

No they should've taken Mikko Rantanen. There was a rumor that they were gonna trade down to pick number 8 with Columbus because they wanted Hanifin and the Leafs would've grabbed Mikko at that spot but they wanted all of the Blue Jackets second round picks. Glad they didn't take Hanifin. He's Jake Gardiner 2.0

Leafs will be fielding a lot of low priced players next year. Even more so than in previous seasons. That gives Robertson a leg up to make the team. Minton is sure to get another look again.

With Sammy it's not a lack of effort. He obviously has some deficiencies in his game. When Woll was injured and Sammy was winning games for the Leafs the team in front of him was pumping in goals. They were the highest scoring team in the East after all and only Colorado scored more goals in the entire league and they only beat Toronto by 1 goal.
In a tight playoff series where Leafs have trouble scoring giving up freebies are killers.

And then Carolina got Aho, probably the best player taken in the 2nd round.
And of course Dubas had to grab a Soo Greyhound player with the pick just before Aho. Brando Carlo Roop Hintz and Jordan Greenway were also taken after Travis Dermott. So much for Kyle Dubas's analytic eye for talent. The 2nd round was pretty good in 2015. Unfortunately someone forgot to tell Dubas that. But thankfully were got Jeremy Bracco with the last pick of the round after trading down instead of taking Travis Konecny

Not sure why so many people think Florida is going to steam roll over Boston.
Must be the Leafs suck factor and it took Boston 7 games to do it so they must suck also.
Boston won the President's Trophy last season.
Florida made the Finals the season after winning the President's Trophy.

Montreal made the Finals after beating the Leafs.
TB made the Finals after beating the Leafs.
Florida made the Finals after beating the Leafs.
Boston just beat the Leafs.

This season 1 point separated Boston and Florida and Boston tanked their last few games to play the Leafs.
Regulation wins vs regulation losses Florida is 42 to 24 (1.75 ratio) and Boston is 36 to 20 (1.80 ratio)
Last playoffs Boston and Florida played game 7 to OT. It was that close.
Leafs screwed up their game 7 OT vs Boston. That's how small the margin is.

Hold on. Are you trying to tell us that teams that beat the Leafs in the first round end up making it to the final. That can't be true. What happened to the Bruins team when the Leafs blew a 3 goal third period lead in the 2013 playoffs.

Robertson is best to move on and get a fresh start. He looks like a fringe nhl player at best, he can score goals but seems to fuck up a lot.

Marner is a perimeter player who should move on to Pittsburgh, Chicago or Utah. Even if they don't get much, at this point it's about freeing up money as he'll want Nylander money at least.

Yes, I am saying each and every season since the dawn of time ...

2023 playoffs Florida
2022 playoffs TB
2021 playoffs Montreal
2020 playoffs was a 5 game playin so wasn't 7 game series.
2019 playoffs Boston

None of them won the cup though. They all lost in the Finals
