A full scale war is almost inevitable. The USA still wants revenge for the Islamic Republic taking American hostages in 1980.

Moronic Lauren Boebert said the Church should direct the State - we've seen quite sufficiently what that can lead to. The current war did not start on Oct 7. Hamas was retaliating for ethnic cleansing by the IDF and settlers militias in the southern part of the West Bank. Benji gave them carte blanche to proceed, he does what the Orthodox parties in his cabinet tell him to do.

You mean back when Regan was selling missiles to Iran and using the funds to buy cocaine from the contras in Nicaragua all while imposing a war on drugs ? Those were the days

So is this a false flag operation done by Israel to frame Iran? FFS!
Why go to that kind of trouble? Pretty obvious all they had to do was wait and see, thus preserving the tiny sliver of moral high ground they haven't lost due to Gaza...

Pu-leeze, we are so over that. Only 44 years ago and no lives (in the embassy) lost.

For sure, ethnic cleansing to facilitate the ongoing land grab. The word holocaust is claimed as the property of the Zionist tribe, after all...

I know I'll get heat for this, but...If you live in Canada or US or wherever because you left the country you came from for a "better" life, and then protest in favour of the country you left, go the F*#%K back.
War is ridiculous, it's caused by megalomaniacs or religion.
I always thought this is why we have sports. Settle it on a soccer pitch, or boxing ring and go about your business on your own.
Fences make great neighbours, but if you hop that fence, attack your neighbour then watch out for that neighbour when they hit you back.

Exactly. Their moral high ground has sadly turned into a quagmire for them. The world expectation that they fight a conventional war with normal acceptable rules of engagement against an enemy that hides behind its civilian populous, hospitals and schools makes no real sense however at this point given the level of destruction at some point they have to just stop and come up with a different plan altogether. I certainly would be targeting the leadership of Hamas as a priority and cutting off the supplies from Iran.

When you still have family, friends and loved ones back in the home country it is not a surprise that they cheer when an enemy nation gets attacked, same as if you grew up with a favourite soccer team you always cheer for them against their rivals even though you may have moved to a different city or country.

Absolutely! Lots of innocent people are getting hurt. And the "home" team, might still be their favourite, even with different coaches running the show and destroying a teams legacy. BUT, don't advocate for more violence on the ice from "your home team" against the new team that you "live" with. Even if your old fave players are getting clobbered after starting a fight. At a certain point, people need to change their team allegiances.
I used to like the Texas Rangers until that idiot Odour hit Bautista. It made me a Jays fan.

Glad you did not use the anology of the Leaf's being like Hamas and always disappointing their fans and getting their asses kicked in the playoffs because that would just be mean 🤣 Go Wings! 😊😊😊😊

It was a face saver by Iran and did nothing much to harm. Israel takes out top revolutionary guard members, Iran takes out 4 innocent Muslims.
Israel needs to take it as a win.
However Bibi trying to stay in power to avoid gaol so he'll prolong it.
Sad.
John Bolton, who has advocated for attacking Iran for decades is saying now is the time to go all in on taking out nuke facilities. If Iran does attack US facilities then I'm on board. But if not deescalate. But do take out Iranian forces who board ships.

Identities are not created or erased by swapping passports. People protest here because western nations are heavily involved in their support for Israel - a country that is mass murdering Palestinians and attacked Iran earlier. Given these are Canadian citizens, their voice on all matters, matter just as much as someone who was born and raised here who has no connections to any of these things. That is multiculturalism for you, and it is inherent to Canada.

Exactly. They did the same to a US airbase after the US killed Soleimani. Nothing happened after that. So I think this will fizzle out as well. But I have to say that Bibi is going down a very dangerous path. The US has given him a very long leash. Wonder when it will run out.
I am Russian descent but my ancestors moved here over 200 years ago, do I still cheer Russia on when they attacked Ukraine? Hell no. so yes, my blood line is Russian, but my allegiance is to Canada and Western countries. If Russia came into Alaska and raped and slaughtered over a thousand people, then they need to take the repercussions and my alliance to the west would be unwavering. I wouldn't be waving a Russian flag and cheering them on because someone pissed them off in the past and they felt the need to attack the west.
You can't justify what Hamas did based on the reaction by Israel's allies. Do I agree with how horribly over the top the Israeli's are dealing with it, not really. But then I look at a video of the aftermath of a simple peaceful music festival, the hundreds of dead innocent young people. shot and mutilated, raped etc. or the images of a young woman in sweatpants that are bloodied because she's been gang raped by Hamas all the while the people are celebrating in the streets. Well. then I don't feel bad at all and it just makes me sick to my stomach that "Canadians" are in favour of a terrorist organization, when all anyone wants is peace or some sort of resolution, which I should remind you is just to release the hostages. that's a pretty simple task. None of those people are protesting the Israeli embassy, they are targeting Jews and Jewish owned businesses. this has no place in our country. protest Israel not the religion. Politics, not religion, then maybe I'll agree with you.
Just wanted to add, if the people here still have family over there, then they should be protesting the way in which their former govt. is treating them, advocate for Peace not more hatred or violence. This is where our opinion differs.

As the American people watch in horror as Israel faces unprecedented attacks from Iran, Joe Biden and the White House shamefully called a lid and refused to address the nation and the world. Their silence is deafening. On the contrary, President Trump is speaking to the American people in Pennsylvania where he’s making it unequivocally clear that America stands with Israel and condemns Iran’s heinous attacks

I am also curious. Why do you feel MORE sympathy for the 100s of dead Israelis in the music festivals, but not for the 35000 dead Palestinians, and the pictures of dead children buried under rubble? My guess is it is because Israelis are white, so you feel more sympathy for people with a certain skin colour over others with a different skin colour.
I like music festivals and I don’t care about brainwashed Islamist savages 🤷‍♀️

also- Israelis are not necessarily white.

Except, in the case of Israel, Israel has been occupying, brutalizing and subjecting the Palestinians to constant atrocities for 75 years. October 7, was NOT an isolated incident that happened. October 7 is just one attack in a military and ethnic conflict that has lasted for 75 years.

You talk about the Hamas attack on the music festival. Did you take time to check the dehumanizing attacks on Palestinians before October 7 by the Israeli settlers, killing 200+ people in the west bank in 2023 alone? Did you take time to check about the sexual assault and rape of Palestinians women and children, in unlawful detention in Israeli prisons? Did you take time to check about the evictions, demolitions of Palestinian houses in the West Bank? Or the Apartheid state Israel runs? Did you check the recent UN report, that did not find any evidence of rape by Hamas? No you did not.

All of this happens, with blanket endorsement from the west. So those people who are also western citizens protest to highlight the hypocrisy and the morally corrupt positions our countries have taken. Those voices are therefore very much necessary without which we will just end up drinking government koolaid.

Therefore your "allegiance" to western nations is uninformed. This is not any different to the way Europe reacted to Ukrainian refugees in 2022, as opposed to how they treated Syrian refugees during the ISIS take over in 2010 to 2015. This is racism, not compassion.

Start by reading this document called "Our Narrative" that Hamas published after October 7, which lists the reasons why they did October 7. Now am not saying a terror attack is justified. But I want to ask - "What did you expect would happen?".

I can provide more resources if you are interested.
Hey, I am not for killing whatsoever, but you cannot, CANNOT justify putting babies in ovens or burning people alive because there is a history of "unjustified" actions against the Palestinian people. Skin colour has no place in this at all. You don't know if I am white or mixed, so don't even go there.
If your Grandfather attacked my Grandfather, that does not give me the right to attack you in your home. The UN report on that there was no rape is completely false.
this is from the UN.
I would like to see more of your resources and the source from which they gather their claims. I feel more sympathy towards young women and men that were at a peace based music festival than any Hamas fighter/sympathizer. There has been conflict for thousands of years, and it's simply ridiculous. why haven't the Pro Palestine protesters ever chanted, "PEACE IN PALESTINE", nope, they chant 'DEATH TO JEWS". like WTF?!
I am Jewish. I am not religious, I have never been to Israel, and I do not condone the mass destruction and extent of Israel's response in Gaza. I am Pro human, I am not a fan of Netanyahu, so don't even start accusing me of being one sided. I am a parent, it kills me to see these people and what they are dealing with. BUT, you can never condone the Oct 7th attack because there is a history of discontent or violence towards Palestinians or Israelis. You have to see the whole picture and my opinion, and no I am not a poli sci grad, I am a fan of history. History just keeps repeating itself. I have neighbours that I don't like, do I threaten them? Do i throw things into their yard to poison their yappy dog? No, Do I live peacefully with them knowing that I don't like them? Sure, I'm not having meals with them or drinks. I keep to myself and vice versa.
so I can't understand how they can't have a 2 state solution and just live in peace with each other. I refuse to get in a pissing match with anyone claiming resources and documentation or otherwise. Nowadays, we can't believe shit, every resource out there has an opposing resource and it becomes a vicious cycle.
Good luck and I stand by my original post.
If you don't like it here, then go back to where you came from. Canada is a peaceful safe haven and there is no place for hate in my country.
If there was a pro palestine protest that chanted for peace, I would march with them. until that happens, they can all go to hell as far as I'm concerned.

Agree 100%.

It's a face -saver for the Ayatollahs and a defacto win - actually a nothing - for Israel. Israel needs to walk away and pretend to want a ceasefire with Iran to defuse the current situation.

I doubt that container ship is going to fly the Iranian flag for too long given the talents of the IDF special forces. We'll see.

Much as I sympathize with the plight of women in Iran, I also suspect that western media focuses on a small % of the Iranian population and most are fine living in a theocracy. Iran might be a lot less easy to overthrow than Iraq and no one wants a costly, bloody quagmire.

it’s pretty simple and should be even easier to understand right now.
If palis were to have a state now it would be run by hamas and Iran for the purpose of destroying israel from the river to the sea.
Weapons would flow in freely, rocket launching personnel would be trained and israel would inevitably be attacked.
And israel cannot have that. Not with palis current level of radicalization.
It’s sad as fuck but there can be no permanent solution at this point.

Totally agree.
Israel needs to walk away from this with the attitude of "message received", we punched you, you swung back, whether they hit or missed, it needs to de-escalate.

Uninformed
And you are?
I am well informed. but i am also open to both sides and both opinions. How come Egypt hasn't opened their arms to Palis, or Lebanon or Iran, they all have lots of land they can spare. The edict of Hamas and most radicalized people in Israel is that they want the destruction of the Jewish people. They don't want peace. Israel is defending their citizens.
Does it make any sense?
Nope, I don't claim to be an expert, but all I ever hear are people like you just saying things like "..uninformed.." that is not a response.
I am for Peace, I am for Jews and Muslims living together, but this has thousands of years of history, and it's utter horseshit that they keep this fighting going on.
If Hamas or Hezbollah would stop lobbing missiles onto civilain targets, maybe then Israel could chill the eff out. so if you really want to look at the facts, there have been daily attacks on Israel for decades with minimal response, Israel has an incredible military machine for a reason. they are surrounded by people that want to kill them. So how do we go forward? someone needs to call for Peace
