The sense of entitlement to steal at the retail shopping level is really ramping up .
Really ??? How did the call to boycott big oil until they lower prices work out for you? You sound like the classic definition of insane. By all means call for boycott of anything that doesn't fall in line with your idea of nirvana.
So you areYou may be confusing me with someone else, I never called for a boycott of big oil or anything else actually. I'm not under the delusion of changing Loblaws or anyone else by my choices. I'm just choosing not to shop at a place that I find distasteful.
You my want to get your mental health checked out or perhaps anger management...
This begs the question....is it wrong to steal from someone who is stealing from you? I think not.The sense of entitlement to steal at the retail shopping level is really ramping up .
If someone is profiting from you or has more money than you, then should you steal from them ?This begs the question....is it wrong to steal from someone who is stealing from you? I think not.
Yes. You will not be allowed to leave until you make a purchase. lolThe debate on income inequality and stealing could go on forever. What if you go into Loblaws looking for a certain item and they don't have it? Do you then become a prisoner when you try to leave without buying anything???
Well that depends on the profit margins and and whether the price is fair based on market values. Case in point, I recently seen an article where a tub of feta cheese was I think $25 at walmart and a comparable tub was $48 at loblaws. Now if you are confined geographically by the gas prices and have no choice but to buy it at loblaws you have most certainly been robbed and I would encourage you to steal 2 tubs of feta from loblaws since they felt the need to charge double. Food, which is a necessity is being held for ransom. It's pay or else. What these grocery companies are doing to people is criminal. Just because there isn't a law written making it a crime doesn't mean it isn't. It's morally reprehensible and that's enough for me to justify blatant theft. From a thief. If someone is profiting from you or has more money than you, then should you steal from them ?
Should this entitle you to steal from them ?
Socialism, Communism, Robinhood justices and justifications ?
Either you're very confused or illiterate... I"m saying the opposite of what you're suggesting. So you are
A social justice warrior
I don't personally do it, but I've heard people I know argue that if a store is 'forcing' them to become an employee, getting a free item out of your cart is payment for services rendered. If they want to reduce theft they should eliminate self checkout and hire more staff. The sense of entitlement to steal at the retail shopping level is really ramping up .
Theoretically, if you're doing the job of an employee, an employee discount is reasonable.I don't personally do it, but I've heard people I know argue that if a store is 'forcing' them to become an employee, getting a free item out of your cart is payment for services rendered. See my post #80. Perhaps the theft is less costly than hiring more staff. The self checkout POS machines cost $30K - $35K, which is a one-time cost. They work 24 hours a day, you don't have to pay them benefits, give them raises, they don't call in sick, take breaks or holidays, don't have to pay them overtime, they don't complain and they're way more efficient than most cashiers. Like anything in business, you try to maximize profits. They've done the math.I don't personally do it, but I've heard people I know argue that if a store is 'forcing' them to become an employee, getting a free item out of your cart is payment for services rendered. It's about convenience. They always have cashiers. They're giving you a choice. Do the self-checkout in a minute or two or line up to have a cashier serve you. But it might take you a lot longer, depending upon how many people are ahead of you and how full their carts are.Theoretically, if you're doing the job of an employee, an employee discount is reasonable.
Seriously lolThe sense of entitlement to steal at the retail shopping level is really ramping up .
I know... I wonder how people would feel if others were stealing from their business, for whatever reason?Seriously lol
People on here are justifying stealing because self checkout is a thing.
Not sure where you're shopping but anywhere I shop has 1 or sometimes 2 cashiers and 8-9 empty checkouts and then the self check out. So essentially they are forcing you to wait longer to check out, or become a defacto unpaid employee if you value your time in any way. Walmart is the worst for this. They built 20 self checkouts for a reason. Pay with half an hour of your precious time or tow the load and work for us for a minute. If the are paying a cashier there is clearly a reason. Because it's a job. It's about convenience. They always have cashiers. They're giving you a choice. Do the self-checkout in a minute or two or line up to have a cashier serve you.
