In an earlier post I said this exact thing. I made a comparison saying Varsho is going to have to do something similar to Candy Maldonado in 1992. 20+ homeruns, 270+ average and I really think this is the team… if Vladimir can put up something similar to Joe Carter in 1992, and then if Bichette can put up something similar to Alomar in 1992, then of course also Justin Turner being comparable to Dave Winfield…. I truly think we got this.

Plus I just started chatting to friend of mine from 1992 so I think that’s a good luck charm.

On February 7, I found a baseball on my way home from breakfast. It was signed by 14 members of the 1992 Jays.

The texture of these two photos, will be the texture of the T-Dot in 2024. You guys heard it here first.

Dave Stieb is at bottom of pile after slipping and falling as he ran to Carter, he got trampled! LOL

Timlin pleaded for Carter to give him the ball as it was his first career save, he relented and gave up the ball, a year later, Carter got his walk off WS HR ball.

onomatopoeia -So cool to find that ball.

I get a little choked up when I think of how this first class organization kept Steib on the 40 man in 1992, even though he was injured, just so he can get a ring……. In my home office I have a large poster banner framed mural of the 1992 team with all the signatures.

i’m going to wear some acid wash jeans and listen to “I love your smile” by Shanice. Maybe after that Mariah Carey’s first album. Total 1992 vibes going on in my house lol.

Stieb should be HOF, he threw 5 one hitters along with a no hitter.

What was that book he wrote called again? Tomorrow I’ll Be Perfect? I love Dave Stieb. As a former pitcher, I completely idolized Roger Clemens, Dave Stieb and Duane Ward. My problem was I would show up to the park thinking I was one of these three guys, trying to copy their pitching mechanics completely and not focussing on the strike zone. I threw pretty hard but when you walk the bases loaded continuously you’re not going to last very long lol. I have Clemens, Stieb and Ward to thank for that. Come to think of it, copying Duane Wards arm action, gave me a damn shoulder injury. I’m sure of it…..

Steib was and will always be one of my favorites, but when I was younger I didn't know what an asshole he was.

Do you remember when he told the Toronto media that Toronto fans could kiss his purple ass? lol
Yes I do. And I remember when he stepped out of the batters box, took off his helmet and saluted the home fans as they were booing him.

And Fergie Oliver said “how about that asshole?“

Fergie would NEVER say that. Pat Marsden yes, but never Fergie.

A buddy of mine would get Fergie Olver's (there is no "I") media guide and if we went to see the Jays in Detroit or Chicago it would show which hotels they stayed in, so that's where we booked ourselves. Just hang around the lobby and our kids would get tons of autographs and pics.

Fergie said, “my hot wife has a better ass than George Bell and his purple butt.”

He would give the death stare to an anyone who made an error when he was on the mound, he was so hated that some players would not give him any run support on purpose.

yup, I watched a whole youtube video about how his whole team hated him for shit like this.
