if his assets are worth anything close to what he claimed it should not be that difficult to obtain mortgages. The problem is that a great deal of his perceived value way in good will and other intangibles which have no value for financing purposes.

Jared Moskowitz (D-Parkland) sent a letter to the appraiser following Trump's comments that Mar-a-Lago was worth about $1.8 billion while Judge Arthur Engoron cited that the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser actually valued the property to be between $18 million and $28 million, depending on the year between 2011 to 2021. In 2020, the county valued Mar-a-Lago at $27 million.
In the letter addressed to Property Appraiser Dorothy Jacks, Moskowitz cited Engoron's ruling and Trump's Truth Social post that claimed Mar-a-Lago was in fact worth "100 times" the amount the judge ruled in the former president's civil fraud case.
Moskowitz also shared a tweet from Trump's son Eric, who echoed the former president's comments.

Whaddabout if the GOP finally rid themselves of this tapeworm infecting their brains and nominated a sensible candidate? They have a better chance of winning. IMO. The Trumptards and the Angertainment industry getting rich off those suckers do not represent normal “conservative” voters. And the US has this tribal culture of parties and brands that is hard to comprehend. Normal folks might not vote for Biden out of party loyalty but there are a lot that won’t be able to stomach voting for this selfish lunatic.
I would go so far as to say that if Trump died or was imprisoned and therefore definitely out of the race, the GOP could win with any candidate. Although I have no vote, I would be very happy if a competent sensible as-yet unknown GOP President won. Just not that fucking mean spirited lunatic fraudster Trump.
If Trump just put his inheritance in the market index fund he'd do very well today (worth hundreds of billions). But his narcissism is his downfall, Trump has to have his name in large letters on the biggest buildings and needs to be adorned by the public.
