if you've been further north you'd know that there are only a few pockets of old growth forest left in Ontario, none in Algonquin.
That should make you realize that humans are very capable of changing the environment and climate.
You'd also realize how fucked it is that Alberta and BC have forest fire problems in February.
You might also realize that Canadian forests now emit more CO2 than they store every year because of forest fires.

Its also idiotic to claim that because humans also start most forest fires that the conditions that make those forest fires much more dangerous and much bigger are irrelevant. 50 years ago we didn't get forest fires in Canada that sent smoke across the entire country and through the US.

Records for forest fires have only really been kept for the past 100 years and formally studied since the 70's.
