Congrats Notty on Russia's big success in Avdiivka. Only took 10 years and 30,000 dead Russians to capture a town the size of Owen Sound.
This started in 2014 when the West supported the overthrow of the Ukrainian regime as part of an ongoing effort to expand Western influence. From a strategic perspective the Russians can not allow Ukraine to slip from their control. The eastern part of Ukraine (the part Russia has occupied) is the last choke point at which to contain an invasion from Europe; letting it fall into unfriendly hands would leave the approaches to Moscow wide open.
What is truely worrying is the Russian - Chinese alliance that has formed due to attempts to isolate Russia; this alliance will cause us tremendous pain in the next few years. If we were smart we’d let Putin have the area he has already occupied and agree to turn the rest of Ukraine into a DMZ in exchange for an alliance against the Chinese.
And congrats on the many Russian 'nottyboi's' and nottykrafts being promoted to Submariner duties! From a country without a Navy. Russia is indeed a big oaf of a bully with lots of muscle and mass... but ONE Uke on Snake Island told the Russian Flagship Moskva to "Go Fuck Yourself, Russian Warship". Except Russia is not trustworthy. Full stop. You'd be an idiot to enter into any agreement or treaty with them. Russians regard negotiations as an opportunity to take advantage of weakness and to prepare more steps ahead than 'The West' can even comprehend.
I laugh at all these conspiracy theories about western this and that. The West simply does not look that far ahead and loves to argue amongst each other. Ostensibly about some greater good but ultimately it's all about individual enrichment of some sort. No fucking way these imagined conspiracies can hold up among westerners. After all, Putin The Evil, did say that a world without Russia is a world that would not exist.
