Fox News is TRIGGERED that survey ranks Trump as worst president ever! THE WORST OF ALL PRESIDENTS!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAH LOSERRRRRRRR

I find it funny that anyone could seriously not think Trump would be in the bottom part of a greatest president's list. He failed to meet the challenges that popped up during his term, and then tried to illegally stay in power...That is why he is dead last! Now, the top 15 is a little odd...I'm not sure if Biden should be that high, but he's already passed several bills that have fundamentally improved life for many Americans. Something Trump never accomplished...

The reality is Newsom signed off on only $20 minimum wage but sure use the wish of one member to paint all the Dems as asking for a $50 hike. LOL
The point was there are plenty of wing nuts on the left. Congresswomen Barbara Lee is not the only radical left member of Congress who basically sees no limits to redistribution. I didn't want to bore the thread with listing anti-Israel members who coincidentally are extremely leftist economically. One NY Democratic Congressmen believed 9-11 was coordinated by our government. Of course, he was forced to deny his beliefs.

If I had to choose between a MAGA Congressmen who supports limiting government and a Leftist Congressmen who see no limits to the expansion of government, I know what my choice will be. If one peers through all the hyperbole from both sides, this is the crux of the political choice.

I didn't mention Adam Schiff in his role as the Chair of the Intelligence Committee who for two years said he had proof that Donald Trump was colluding with the Russians. That was fun. I want to say that it was a little political fib, but it was a major hindrance for executive governance. It threw the country into more partisan battles that last today. It's a major part of why Schiff is the leading candidate in the California Senate race. Harmful rhetoric and hyperbole wins many states and districts.

I'm wondering if its going to be 1968 all over again.
The Democratic convention is coincidentally in Chicago. You're aware of history. The problem isn't just what happens inside. It's also what happens outside.

I think it's fair to say the Chicago Mayor is an extreme progressive. I will be curious to see how he responds if things get messy.

Putin tried hard and succeeded in 2016 to get Trump elected. Russia will do the same in November because of Trump's hatred for Nato which plays well in Putin world

Of course there are radicals in both parties but to claim Biden admin has gone far left is nonsensical while at the same time, the Republicans are moving towards being an all out MAGA infused, conspiratorial party.

Yours and other's idea of a "centrist" is different than most Americans. Everyone hopes that their political values are mainstream. Most people don't want to believe they are on the fringe. No one says "I believe X and Y but the vast majority of the country disagrees with me".

There is a dynamic in Western democracies where fringe elements believe the will of the people is being blunted. If people only knew more information, they would see the light. I can tell you I have friends on the left and right who believe these things about the electorate. That's why its easy to convince these extreme people that the other side is destroying the country. If you don't believe this and pass (or fail) this legislation, it's the end of democracy.

Now let's turn the tables on to Canada. Perhaps because I read a lot of financial and economic news, I am seeing the growing chorus regarding the building economic malaise in Canada. There is now a identifiable structural problem with Canada's economy. It's not just cyclical. It's not a prediction. It's here now and has been for several years.

I don't know why, but the progressive membership here seems to be very effective at drowning out other voices that would generally be discussing this more rationally. They tend to shout the most and loudest on social media. I truly admire their passion.

Putting Trudeau, Poilievre, Biden and Trump aside for a moment, how is Canada going to address this problem? If people engage in personality politics or get lost fighting ideological battles, they will likely miss the bigger issues.

So you are probably thinking what does Canadian politics have to do with Biden and Trump Republicans. It has everything to do your perception of what a centrist is? And your likely self-perception that you are a centrist? Anyone can claim they are a centrist. The hard part is the compromising, adapting to changing circumstances and being flexible in one's views.

This is why the radical left of the party has arranged a protest against BIDEN because of his Israel stance which I need remind you is in support of an very right wing Israel leader. You want to paint Biden as a hard left to suit your arguments but it's nonsense. He has throughout his career been a centre left dipping his toe to the right. Yes, you support Trump who before his run, actually, correction, before Obama became Prez, he was a Democrat. Why is it, even folks in your camp admit it will be tough for Trump to win a general election, it's not because Biden will win because he is on the far left is it, NO, it's not.

As for Canada, did you catch the news today. Inflation down to 2.9% which has the BOC talking interest cuts much sooner than expected as Canada heads towards the coveted 2% inflation rate.

PeePee has done a very good job on blaming everything including the clog in his kitchen sink paid for by the tax payers on Justin and the liberal party, akin to Trump blaming the entire border crises on Biden when the house under Trump's orders refuses to sign a bill to help improve the border crossings.

Dude, you want to come here and sound like the reasonabe US expert/intellectual but my brother, you get lost in your biased right wing views.

What's your point? So tell me being a Trump lover, what is the right's criticism on Biden's handling of Israel? What should he be doing and why hasn't the GOP released funds to help Israel which included aid for the civilians being caught in the war.

It's because the GOP doesn't want to give any more money to Ukraine!! The GOP fully supports Israel!! That's why the GOP wanted to split the bill into two parts. One part of the bill (that the GOP approves), would provide aid to Israel as well as shoring up the southern part of the US border.

So, by the GOP ignoring Trump's command they would have solved some border issues, helped Ukraine and Israel in one sweeping swoop, instead they chose to help Putin, ignore border patrol, and deny Israel needed funds and Palestinians needed aid.

That's kind of the deal. I'm not sure Biden or any other Dem could possibly win the Presidency if they didn't support Israel.

Biden infuriates a segment of the left, but it is damned if you do, damned if you don't. Where is the far left, pro-Palestine crowd going to go anyway?

It really isn't a courageous choice for the Biden Administration or any Administration for that matter.

It was mixed bag. I generally like to see compromise on Capitol Hill. However peculiarly, the Biden Administration was dragged to the table by holding a gun to their head. The Biden Administration should have been trying to compromise two years ago.

I doubt Biden will be able to spin this issue into an advantage in November. Voters know that his Cabinet (likely not him) was duplicitous and evasive on the problems at the border.

Squeezer, I want to point out to you what left and center in this matter are because you seem to be a little shaky on your definitions. The Obama Administration took a centrist approach to handling the border. The Biden Administration has been taking a leftist approach to the border for three years. See there are clear differences and they are not really that subtle.

When it comes to the recent NY special election, I'm not sure taking cues from certain media is a great idea. The special election involved a virtual incumbent. Incumbents always benefit from low turnouts which was magnified by a snowstorm on election day.

Dude, look at the date of the article you linked, it's a feb 7th. The Senate passed a bipartisan bill regarding the border! Don't make it so easy for me to make you look like a bottle of Tums.

Why should they? The GOP and Repugs now have the solid reputation of not being able to govern, that lies at their feet not Bidens.

Oh yes, it will along with abortion rights and just the chaos another Trump presidency would bring. You know it and deep down you were praying Trump would not be the candidate running in November. I am saying this because I give you a little more credit unlike I would do for Mitchy knowing you realize Trump is a disaster.

Nice try young man (i know you're an old dude, just being nice) but you didn't hinge your "Biden is gone to the far left" comment on just the border policies. Now if this is what you want to do, the agreed upon $95B which on the marching orders of Trump has been stalled by the GOP clearly shows otherwise.

As to the election, I was referring to this primary https://www.wkar.org/2024-election/...ary-voters-to-go-uncommitted-instead-of-biden not the beatdown of the Repugs in NY. However, that is just the beginning of the beatdowns to come.
