Yes, so similar that there is a hybrid sport named Shinty-Hurling. Usually a Scottish Shinty team plays against an Irish Hurling team in International series.

Answer: He was nicknamed "Bep" because his mother spoke Italian and very little English. Armand was the baby of the family and his mother pronounced baby as "beppy". The nickname stuck and was shortened to "Bep".
Similar to Geddy Lee.
His actual name is Gary, but his mother had a strong eastern European accent, so when she called his name, the "r" sounded like a "d". Hence Geddy.
No truth to the story that Vincent Edward Jackson was called 'Bo' because he was one of ten children in the family, and his dad was bad at remembering names.
