The Doors were Bruce Botnick's personal project, he remained loyal to them till the end.

There's a reason why the 70's are considered the coolest decade. Is Geddy Lee still touring with Yes?

This song leaves me a blubbering mess everytime.

My favourite Doors song, Riders On The Storm, Jim Morrison was a great singer IMO.

The cover that saved The Eagles from oblivion. Their second album On The Border was a massive flop and the band considered breaking up. Linda Ronstadt talked them out of it. Their third album was One of these Nights.

From On the Border, Lida Ronstadt's covers Desperado.

She was my all time female singer, started with the Stone Poneys but in her later years she sang solo and did an album in Spanish that was terrific, I think her father may have been Mexican. One of her best recordings was a cover of an old standard originally done by the Nelson Riddle band called What's New. To me, this was one of the best recordings of any artist on the planet. Most of you young people may not agree but this recording is in my head all the time. Too bad she was inflicted with Parkinson's disease and had to retire.

Most of you young people? You're probably in better shape than me. There's only one other singer that compares to Linda Rondstadt: Lauryn Hill.

Actually Desperado (the album and song), 1973, was their 2nd album, On the Border, 1974, was their third and One of These Nights, 1975 was their 4th. Their eponymous debut, Eagles, came out in 1972 with the huge hit Take it Easy and Peaceful Easy Feeling was also a hit. Desperado was a hit before Linda's cover.

It makes no sense that the song Desperado would not be on the album of the same name. So their 1st two albums did very well. Agreed that On the Border was weaker but they were pretty well established by then.
