I have been away for a couple of months, and thought I would check in.

All the members who were trying to convince us that Russia was loosing badly, and that Putin would be disposed of, if he not already was dying of cancer, are now strong supporters of the genocide in Gaza, and in addition is arguing for an attack on Iran.

The only outlayer is Frank, who at least has a balanced view of Israel.

I was quite early in saying Ukraine cannot win, and I have never wavered from that position. To me its as true as saying the sky is blue. As for Israel ..fuck them.

You might have missed posts from within the last two weeks that
explained why Ukraine has already won the war or Russia has lost.
You may want to look them up for amusement.

yeah well, I have always said the post war may be complicated, but people who believe Russia can be defeated simply have no idea about the sheer scale of Russian military power. They pretty much went to Syria and turned the whole thing around with a tiny fraction of their militrary power.

Using loaded terms like 'genocide' and 'apartheid' to describe Israel's actions in Gaza is both ignorant and insulting.
The Palestinian authorities are reporting about 17K dead since the onset of the conflict. No doubt those numbers are inflated. It also doesn't discern between enemy combatants and innocent civilians.
Israel is estimating between 5K-10K have perished, many of them Hamas militants.
Yes it sucks that innocent lives are being lost and people are being displaced from their homes but Israel doesn't have a choice. Oct 7 was the last straw.

Yes no choice. There is no genocide ffs. A few thousand dead out of 2.5 million population doesn't constitute a genocide. No war crimes they are not targeting civilian populations.

Genocide is about intent, Israel declared intent to kill as many as possible 'Amalek'.
They have bombed as many as they can before Biden stops them.
They've withheld food, water, shelter for 2.3 million people.
And now they are allowing disease to cause mass deaths.

But then you came back.

What I really appreciate about your post is the fatuous pose of world-weary, distanced and neutral intellectualism - when everyone on the board knows that you're the most biased and petty member of them all.

But you do post those very popular opera videos, don't you?.... We really missed those while you were away. Because - unlike you - the rest of us are culturally deficient plebes and do not have the wit or taste to listen to opera ourselves.
