Glad to see Montreal is in the Grey Cup. Too bad the game is in Hamilton and not at Molson Stadium.

"Percival Molson Memorial Stadium (also known in French as Stade Percival-Molson; commonly referred to as Molson Stadium in English or Stade Molson in French) is an outdoor football and multi-purpose stadium in Downtown Montreal, on the slopes of Mount Royal, in the borough of Ville-Marie. Named in honour of Percival Molson, and owned by McGill University, it was the home of the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League from 1954 to 1967 and again since 1998. The stadium is also home to the McGill Redbirds and Martlets of the RSEQ, the Montreal Royal of the American Ultimate Disc League, the Selwyn House Gryphons high-school football team[3] and the Canadian Corporate Soccer League, the largest amateur corporate league in Canada."

I just want to see a good game, since I have bets on both sides. Implied bookie score WPG 28, MTL 20, I'm just going to predict : WPG 30 , MTL 25. Any guesses out
there ? I just want to see a good game and no blowouts like the Argos game.

Due to my Montreal and McGill roots I will cheer for the Alouettes but Winnipeg is one tough oppenent. If the Als win there will be one huge party on Crescent Street, if the Als lose there is still be one huge party on Crescent Street. Wonder if the Sir Winston Churchill Pub is still there with the current generation of McGill co-eds.

I can see the Als win the game just from their D, after their 1st pick 6 on the Argos first drive, they had the game in the bag, the Argos points made the game seem
closer than it was.

I don't follow sports as closely as I did in my youth but I always try to make it a point to watch the Grey Cup and Super Bowl.

BTW: Met George Dixon in person at the Racquet Club on Cote-de-Liesse when I played tennis there. Later learned some years later he had passed at a relatively young age.

As well, my sister, who was a teacher worked with Russ Jackson. Probably the greatest Canadian QB ever, maybe even the best Canadian ever in the CFL

He won 3 Grey Cups and was born in Hamilton, the site of the 2023 Cup. He's still alive at age 87. (y)

Anybody ever met any players past or present who were/are with the two 2023 Grey Cup playing teams (i.e. Alouettes and Blue Bombers)?

Not an Alouette or a BBer, but I worked out with an Argonaut when he was recuperating from an injury. Summer of 1980, I was a wading pool attendant at Sunnyside pool, I just happened to have a J5V CFL football with me, I would toss it in the air to myself. One day this athletic black dude noticed me and said Hey! Toss me a few!.

His name was Keefen, never did get the last name, he ran receiving routes at full speed as I threw passes to him. I also kicked punts to him. He was impressed with my punting , perfect spirals every time. We did this for a few days, in the end he thanked me for giving him a real workout , closest I played in the CFL, LOL!

Years ago I actually received a J5V football as a gift and have no idea what happened to it. It was a bit narrower than the American football which I liked because I could get a firmer grip.

I remember seeing Mike Eben and Gerry Sternberg working out together on the field at my athletic facility.

Years ago the CFL ball was fatter than the NFL ball, nowadays the balls are the same size.

They were both American footballs.

What is the difference between the j5v football and the NFL football?
Another of those ways was with a J5-V Spalding. This football was 1/4 inch thinner and longer than the NFL's Wilson football, "The Duke." Some football experts said the differences made the AFL's ball easier to throw and catch, which in turn made for higher scores in games.
