That's an understatement, IMO. Their totalitarian business decisions are so over-the-top. Planned obsolescence is annoying, but many companies engage in that. What Apple does is forced obsolescence (One example is that lawsuit from 2017, where they secretly unleashed an "update" that throttled peoples old phones to force them to buy a new one. The courts recently ruled against Apple in that.)
And then the recent ruling in Europe saying they have to join the rest of the world in using USB-C chargers instead of forcing people to buy proprietary chargers. Every single other device that needs a USB charger uses a common standard, so people can buy them where they want, but Apple has always been like "fuck that, buy from us".
Don't get me started when it comes to computers. I remember 20 years ago, I was a new hire working at a videogame store, a customer came in and asked if we had any games for Mac. I was like, "We must. It would be nuts if we didn't". Turns out, we didn't. There were no games for Mac because their software is so proprietary, the standard game engines every developer uses don't work on Macs.
