This week for our visit we stayed in the south end. So Tuesday for dinner we went to Duffs down in Orchard Park.
Way nicer bar/restaurant ambience than the bare north end location.
A Tuesday night so no line up at all at reception.
Turned out 11am-7pm is happy hour here.
So wife's order of a beer turned into two glasses for the same price.
Good wings. Excellent blue cheese dip and lots of nice crisp celery.
We ordered 10 a piece and were filled half way through.
Then left overs made a taste Wednesday lunch after a reheat in the hotel's breakfast areas microwave.
After we spent a good part of the morning shopping and buying about $100 worth from our fave local used book shop, Rust Belt Books.
Wed pm was to a local spot, La Belle Sicilia out in the burbs of Cheektowaga on Genesee as I recall.
Basic neighborhood place with no fancy ambience but great food, and great service.
Ordered a large pizza with 'the works'.
It was piled so high with ingredients that 2 pieces each and we were full. Then a piece each for Thursday lunch , and two last pieces are still in the fridge.
