I know that. But good "breeding grounds" - moist and warm - for bacterial infections is usually aided by poorer hygiene. Is that always true, no but a contributing factor.

There are bacterial infections associated with poor hygiene like Impetigo which are easily transmitted but they are not STDs
Excessive douching and soap washing of the vagina upsets the natural self cleaning, changes the flora and may make take away some of the natural protection.
Many STDs require antibiotics to form treatment.

I got worried a few days ago, waited 3 days and the burn kept getting worse. On 3rd day there was some blood in urine and mild pain in scrotum + urge to pee every 20 minutes. That's when I decided to see the doctor. Went to see family doctor, she wrote up req and got me tested for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea.

Along with req to get tested, Doctor also gave me Azithromycin (1gm single dose) and Sulfatrim - 7 day dose. Started feeling better instantly and next day it was all gone as if there were no issues ever.

Weird thing - I tested negative (I had given samples before taking antibiotics).

So, no STI's but antibiotics cured symptoms. Still to see the doctor to discuss results, but its all pretty confusing right now

I maintain very good hygiene but this could be another kind of infection. My guess is I got it during a PS at a spa. That's what I would try to avoid/minimize now. Last month I was visiting these spas twice a week. That's probably what did me

The risk is not the same at all. Unprotected sex is significantly more risky than unprotected oral, and for HIV there's pretty much zero chance from oral.

People forget your mouth has like 1000 ways to kill bacteria - all day every day. We couldn’t eat or drink water otherwise.

Your cock (urethra really) isn’t used to being exposed to stuff all day long, but urine is a hell of an antiseptic.

One real weird thing: when I’ve caught stuff it’s from being exposed when I’m NOT hard. Something about being fully erect seems to minimize exposure.

Anyway I’m not a doctor, so talk to an experienced one and manage your own risk (and anxiety!) to your own comfort level.

This is just my opinion. I don't know if there is any scientific evidence of this. I truly believe if the mind believes the body is "sick", the body somehow starts to exhibit symptoms.

Most people call it anxiety or stress. Some people call it remorse, guilt, or shame. Call it what you want but your mind was at ease once you took the first dose of antibiotics and you "started feeling better instantly".

Choose your thoughts wisely.

I'm very new to SPs and one of my concerns is STIs. Reading reviews, I notice that many guys indulge in skin-to-skin DATY and DATO, aside from kissing of course. I'm looking at this as a numbers game. Kissing, DATY and DATO seems like playing russian roulette with your health. What am I missing here? Are STI levels much lower than I imagine them, do clients accept that catching STIs here and there is part of the deal, or is it something else entirely? Have you, personally, caught any STIs as a result of seeing a SP? I'm not looking to single out SPs - just speaking generally.

Any tips in this domain are appreciated. Apologies if the question comes across as silly.

BBBJ is such a huge risk, i just caught a non permanent STI with that, i guess im super unlucky i thought i choose pretty wisely since the SP i went to see was fresh into the industry, i ended up passing it on to someone a cared about and had to be upfront and honest. The guilt is terrible so i advise everyone to know the risks, BBBJ can give you herpes, hpv, chlamydia, gonnorhea, syphillis, and many of these go unnoticed and can lay dormant for months. so i advise monthly testing atleast since your body takes a bit long to build antibodies for the tests to detect, CBJ is fairly low risk and cfs, mainly just herpes, and hpv but those usually are asymptomatic. Nothing is ever safe 100%, you can only practice safer sex.

Most likely a yeast infection with everything you’ve said. Sounds almost exactly what I went through earlier this year. Same symptoms etc., tests negative. But the doctor had said often it can be yeast infection that likely would have cleared on its own.
