Jimmy Baby spent a great deal of time making his lawyer piss herself. Jimmy did all his own car stunts and Gretchen never missed an opportunity to ride along.

I got through watching Lockwood & Co. last night and I'm once again not impressed with Netflix for cancelling another great show that seems like it had potential.
I've mentioned this before but there's all this talk about finding their next Stranger Things, something they might be able to do if they would stop canning series after one season.
I feel like I have to surrender my geek credentials for this but I finally started to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The new season of Only Murders in the Building has been great so far and I'm still making my way through Daisy Jones and the Six.

Amazon Prime and Disney + are bringing up the rear in streaming revenue. Prime has had some expensive flops most notably The Ring of Power, they've committed to second season whether they're going ahead with it remains to be seen.

They also sank a lot of money into Citadel and that one received of hate and low viewership. I guess I must be easy to please since I actually enjoyed it.
Of all the fantasy shows on Prime, I prefer The Wheel of Time. The Gryphon was also really good, though apparently it's been cancelled. Given the way that streamer is canning shows, I'm not getting my hopes up on WoT getting a third season.

When it comes to crime dramas, the Brits do it better than the Americans, BritBox is excellent value for the money. Luther is also available on CBC Gem. On Sept 21 Netflix launches the 4th Season of their cash cow Sex Education. Which proves the cliche, great risk, great reward...it also helps having Gillian Anderson as a psychologist and den mother to a bunch of horny teens.
I Claudius re-wrote the book on TV dramas, it was rated X by British censors before it aired. It still has an 8.8/10 audience score on IMDB, it made superstars out of John Hurt and Patrick Stewart.

I've been watching the new season of The Wheel of Time on Prime. I finally started to watch Black Mirror. I nearly tapped out of 'Playtest'. It was probably one of the most terrifying and unsettling episodes.
I feel like I have surrender my nerd card for this but I've started watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I've also been watching My Adventures With Superman. It's a more adult-oriented Superman animated series that's very influenced by anime and features

I've only watched the BBC version of Black Mirror, so far haven't seen it since Netflix picked it up. In the meantime....

Because of the lack of drama shows to watch during the summer and, because of the strikes, with no new shows probably until early 2024 at best, I watched all 20 seasons of the original Law & Order series, some of which were available free on Crave, and some I had to order on Amazon via DVD's.
The original series ran from 1990 to 2010, and as I hadn't watched them since the original airings they felt mostly new to me. The only problem was the dead give-away that the well-known guest star in each episode was probably the "bad guy".
I have similarly watched cop shows like NYPD Blue and Southland in their series entirety for the same reasons. Also all of Seinfeld, and the early seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Running out of old faves to watch now though. Hope they settle the SAG and writers strikes soon....

I watched the first episode of Gen V, The Boys spin-off last night. It's setting up a really compelling story and I think it's going to be just as good as its parent show.
It's funny because Garth Ennis, the creator of The Boys comic, has said that even he thinks that the show is better than the comics. The comics were just, "Edgelords in black trench coats beating up and gruesomely murdering superheros" because Ennis has a hate boner for superhero comics. The show is a deconstruction of superheroes and fame.
Though apparently it's developing a toxic Rick and Morty-style fandom.

The concept was brilliant, like the Odd Couple, can a miserable Scotsman (Ramsey) an Italian (Gino D'acampo) and a Frenchman (Fred Sirieix) travel and cook together without driving each other crazy.
Fred is the straight-man who goads on Gordon and Gino's shenanigans. In this scene, like a true Frenchie, he goes for the girl...thank me for the warning Gino is wearing the Boratkini.

Turkey is producing some great shows for Netflix. I suggest you begin with The Club (A Jewish woman returns from prison and tries to make amends with her daughter), and then The Tailor (actually about a fashion designer and the "secrets" that haunt him and others.)
Watch the The Club and then The Tailor. Salih Bademci is in both. He plays an entertainer in one and then an all-round asshole in the other. He has to be one of the best actors around.
