How is that a right wing claim. Truth isn't left or right. Oh wait....to the radical left...truth and actual reality is right wing propaganda isn't it haahaha. As soon as you repeat the right wing claim that all politicians are either corrupt or just in it for themselves you enable backing corrupt politicians.

And she will put Toronto in a worse position.Who got them in this position?
12 years of right wing mayors.
Because left wingers won't support corruption. How is that a right wing claim. Truth isn't left or right. Oh wait....to the radical left...truth and actual reality is right wing propaganda isn't it haahaha.
It's not that we wouldn't like your suggestions. they just don't solve anything.Lol, based on things Iāve read. I suspect you wouldnāt like my suggestions. Which would be, similar to Don Drummond, ( a left wing economist) that everyone, at every level of government has ignored, as has the electorate. And itās not a coincidence that every level, municipal, provincial, federal, is in debt up to its eyeballsā¦..
And if we really want to get down to brass tacks annd point fingers. Itās the electorate thatās to blame because ultimately all politicians like to please, and donāt like pissing off the people whose votes they need to be in power.
Hold spendingā¦.andā¦..raise revenue..
Pretty sure, most of you wouldnāt like that.
Iād start with road tolls for one..because they at least are somewhat discretionary. Thereās the TTC, Go,
and if your memory wasnāt so bad, you might have read that, other comments too.
We've seen how shoplifting is condoned in California. For real life a few examples of left wing governments,
California
Seattle
Portland
San Francisco
and so on
re asylum. I think way back, I said residents of the 416/905 do have legit gripes with JT.It's not that we wouldn't like your suggestions. they just don't solve anything.
First off, Chow is trying to raise revenue. She proposed several ways. So I don't know what the issue is here. Second, regarding Hold spending. Just last month Toronto had a truck load of asylum seekers dumped into the city with no place to put them. How do you hold spending on that?
Can't keep kick the can down the road. Things need to be addressed.
At one time they were tax deductible. And do we not think, the province too doesnāt need to find ways to raise moneyā¦ā¦other than āincome taxā. Pretty much what Drummond recommended. And itās not an either or thing. Itās ābothāā¦stop spending and raise revenue. Which I think the significance of, sometimes gets missedā¦.usually itās āincrease taxesāā¦ā¦or ācut spendingāWhy do people here keep saying raise GO Transit fees.
GO is run by a Provincial Crown Corp called Metrolinx. City of Toronto has nothing to do with it.
Chow should get the city to cut all ties and funding to Metrolinx, including Tory's pet project, Smart track. Why do people here keep saying raise GO Transit fees.

You don't live here and keep wanting to tell us how it should be run.At one time they were tax deductible. The thread is about Toronto's books, not the province. At one time they were tax deductible. And do we not think, the province too doesnāt need to find ways to raise moneyā¦ā¦other than āincome taxā. And which city produces by far the most revenue for the province? The thread is about Toronto's books, not the province.
And yet all left wing politicians in power are corrupt. Trudeau much?Because left wingers won't support corruption.
No left wing politician campaigns saying all politicians are corrupt.
Yeah. Because. The thread is about Toronto's books, not the province.
No, he's not corrupt. And yet all left wing politicians in power are corrupt. Trudeau much?
You donāt live in reality.
This is typical of your posts, ngy.Seniors (Boomers) arenāt leaving the city for cottage country, as they used to. Seniors have realized having shopping centers close by, community services close by, doctors, dentist, public transit ( can you say TTC) etc etcā¦infrastructure and amenitiesā¦Or have we all not noticed the explosion in retirement homes/communities the last decade?
And lastly on Boomers. Broadly speaking, they are in the upper income brackets. Higher paying jobs like the tens of thousands of suits on Bay streetā¦who wonāt be spending $$$ there ā¦when they leave the workforce. Guess what happens to tax revenue, especially the 416sā¦ā¦So tell us all, Go and Metrolinx arenāt relatedā¦
You are delusional.Yeah. Because.
1) They arenāt relatedā¦( see Almalgamation)
2) people and politicians wonāt scream to be bailed out ( points at Toryās budgets)
Follow politics much?
3) Assuming a rare politician comes a long with the backbone to do at least a little of whatās required. Do you not grasp, that residents of the 416 wil getting nickel and dimed and dollared by both?
The ācitiesā booksā¦.and the province?
Think much?
And when Boomers, start absolutely crushing healthcare. Where are all the main hospitals?
Can you say the 416???????
While that cost will be borne by the province. Staffing them? Places to live? Traffic and commuting?
Think much?
Something else people might want to think about, though this is likely more a concern for the 905.

But for the 416, 905, province as well with respect to tax revenue. The world and reality does not operate in a tiny little vacuum.
Follow economics much?
