By the way, “Citiot”…Not actually my word, nor one I really care to use. I learned when I lived in Whitby, collecting my 6 figure salary in downtown hogtown. At the time my Go Passes were tax deductible……….But unlike a lot I have travelled the province extensively. Almost everywhere but the Artic….And I learned from people outside the GTA, back when the Liberals were ramming wind farms down people’s throats, a lot of small towns were taking it on the chin, and we all
stuck our heads in the sand. Hung them out to dry.
And it continues to this day.
And while I can’t find the actual announcement, at the same time she gave $75 million. To toney, vote rich, NoTL wine sippers.
Nor can I find any longer the one about one town, after a plant closed. Couldn’t afford to pay the OPP…..after losing its tax revenue, and its employees tax revenue, unless they hiked their land taxes. A whopping 26% and you all whine about tolls on the 412/418..(paid for by everyone and see above link for an idea for how much shit cost us/them)
And sometimes, that word unfortunately does fit.
Without all the infrastructure, corporate tax breaks, etc poured into the GTA, paid for by everyone, and the debt everyone is paying for, it would not be what it is, would not be the world class city it is.. that is a magnet, for companies and their jobs, for tourist and their $$$$, immigrants and people from all over looking for work, and etc and so on, shame many residents aren’t.
