New Paper: No Change Or Uptick In 21st-Century Global Disasters
Scientists urge top publisher to withdraw faulty climate study

Four prominent climate scientists contacted by AFP all said the study—of which they had been unaware—grossly manipulates data, cherry picking some facts and ignoring others that would contradict their discredited assertions.

"The paper gives the appearance of being specifically written to make the case that there is no climate crisis, rather than presenting an objective, comprehensive, up-to-date assessment," said Richard Betts, Head of Climate Impacts Research at Britain's Met Office.

95% of all the carbon on Earth has already been calcified, for which there is no natural biological process capable of undoing it. When that reaches 100%, in about half a million years, all life on Earth will cease. And there's nothing we can do about it except emigrate and find another planet which still has free carbon.

Carbon It's constantly generated.
that is not entirely true
calcium carbonate does not naturally decompose (i.e. rot) , however it will react in a saturated CO2 solution to form the soluble bicarbonate
it will also react with dilute acids to release co2
calcium carbonate will also thermally decompose @ 825 C

given all the plants on the planet have approx 50% carbon (dry weight, water is 80 to 90% wet weight)
limestone does erode on geological time scales and only represents 0,25% of the earth crust

i find that 95% questionable, although not implausible as the oceans are vast

Arguing over climate change has little to no merit if premise of
debate rests on the cause of it being human activities contributing
to rising CO2 concentration. It should be clear by now to climate sheeple
that the more Greta Thunberg and her ilks call for climate actions the
higher consumption of fossil fuel will rise. The countries most committed
to emission reduction to resolve the climate crisis are also the ones most
active in drilling new oil fields and opening up new coal mines---Norway,
the UK, U.S., Canada and Australia. It is just like individuals most vocal about
the urgency of climate change are often the worst carbon polluters. I have no
doubt Equinor and other Canadian drillers in collusion with Steven Guilbeault
and Jonathan Wilkinson will venture into deeper water after Bay Du Nord
is brought online. The U.S. will continue drilling in the Gulf of Mexico until
they are past the 10,000 ft mark. And Norway the greenest nation on Earth
will of course not stop until they squeeze every drop of oil from the bottom of
the Arctic Sea.

That is why I've become somewhat sympathetic towards the climate movement
and wish Greta to keep up her good work instigating school strikes for climate.
I've been convinced climate activism will remain a positive factor it has been for oil
prices. Remember the higher oil prices rise the more people will be driven to switch
to cheaper renewable energy. So keep up your driving and flying until oil is no longer
cheap. That is how you can help to resolve the climate crisis as a good citizen
of the Earth.

Good point, we should go straight to making the oil&gas industry pay for the damages they are causing for the rest of us.
Hit their royalties, investments and pensions.

If a hurricane ruined all of Florida right now, that would increase GDP as money would need to be spent to rebuild it. If Russia nuked the USA that would increase the GDP of the USA. If the US got into a big war right now, that would increase the GDP of the USA.

Projected GDP going up or down is evidence of jackshit.
Well yes and no... If we get to a point where we get too many natural disaster (as they currently increase a lot) it will change the game for insurance company. And we may need to reach a point where you will get a sum of money to actually move away.

Florida currently has 100k lawsuit from previous disasters... Thousands also in California. All these ongoing battles with insurer may change the game to a point of no rebuilt.

More useful than the covid vaccine for sure
Possibly more useful than a good number of brain cells in your cranium.
