Climate change is definitely happening and we are contributing to it. What is the solution ?

Conservation starting today. Use public transport whenever and wherever possible,
carpooling, downsizing everything from the size of your home and cars to the number
of cars owned in the family would help. Cutting back consumption of meat is another
step towards lower consumption of fossil fuel.

The first step is to acknowledge the problem. Regrettably there is a vocal minority who refuse and stand in the way of any meaningful solutions.
The problem has not only been acknowledged by majority of political
leaders but exploited for political gains. Now is time for them to (finally)
rally individuals in society to start cutting back on fossil fuel consumption.
I suggest reducing import of crude oil from the Middle East to the east
coast of Canada as the first step in the path to the post-fossil-fuel era.

The promise is that a majority of political leaders is no enough. Just look at the damage that gas been done by the last administration and the decipables in congress.

Assuming the last administration was meant to be Harper's then Trudeau
has had seven years to reduce emission which is higher than it was before
he took over. If it was Donald Trump's administration who did the damage
you can be assured Biden is going to bring emission up further. I am willing
to bet that Biden is not going to fully refill the emergency oil reserve until after
the 2024 election. The climate leader who guaranteed he was going to end
fossil fuel had tapped into the strategic petroleum reserve not to fight
oil supply crunch but for gas price relief at the pump. He will hold off
refilling until after he wins the 2nd term our of desperation to keep gas
prices low.

A vegan plant based diet does more environmental damage that eating locally grown eggs and meat

You are missing the point. There have been and I expect there will be in the future initiatives that do not work. And scientists may be wrong in predicting when changes will occur. But that is not a reason to deny reality and doing nothing is not an option.

Doing nothing is always an option, and it's a option that is frequently overlooked or underconsidered.

Also "doing nothing" needs a context. Do humans need to expand to other habitats to continue population growth and ensure survival of our species? The answer is an obvious yes. Resources on Earth are finite. Conveniently, "doing something" by focusing on the problem of finding new habitats would simultaneously address ecological issues on Earth. Maybe you are defining "doing nothing" too narrowly?

Can you give an example of a new potential habitat for humanity that we should be investigating?

The fact that you ask a question with such an obvious answer doesn't bode well for a constructive discussion. You did read the words "finding new habitats" right?

Like in Don't Look Up?

I assume bud is talking about getting Elon to fulfill his dream and send rich people to Mars.

Meanwhile, the global climate's energy inbalance keeps going up and up.

If you are proposing finding new habitats as a solution then surely you have a vague idea of where to look or the type of habitat to look for; underwater, underground, living on air ships, a space station, another planet in our solar system, a planet in another solar system, another dimension, etc... Please provide general examples.

If you can provide no general examples, maybe you should STFU.

Do you accept the possibility that the scientists raising alarms are right?
After 50 years of failed predictions, the possibility that the scientists raising alarms are right is not backed by confidence

After 50 years of failed predictions, people are reasoning that something other than science is behind this alarmism.
an inert trace gas @ 400 ppm does not control our constantly evolving, non-linear dynamic, chaotic climate system.
the all important 15 micro wavelength is saturated

doing nothing?
!. the premise that mankind can control the climate is absurd
2. the proposed solutions are ridiculous, unachievable and will kill a lot of people if attempted

Our naturally changing climate is going to change, always has, always will
The planet is still emerging from an ice age
adapt or perish, independent of fossil fuel use

The premise is that humanity can influence the climate, not control it.
You are still using straw man arguments.
