You do I hope understand that somewhere down the road no matter what the earth is going to be X degree warmer? Yes? so what exactly are you afraid of. Nature will adapt. Name any time when it hasn’t.
You have made similar comments a number of times and repetition does not make them any less foolish. Nature adapts over thousands and millions of years. Not sure about you but I am not prepared to wait.

Laughing at you is the rational response.

do me a favor and put me on ignore
do not read my posts, do not comment on them if you are incapable of commenting directly to me

because being honest about it is such a bad thing? By all means, keep fooling yourself then and pretending it’s “save the planet” or “environment”.

Seems to me, what you’re afraid of is change. And what that “might” mean for us…

Society will have huge trouble adapting and will likely lead to conflict and chaos. Humanity might still be around for a long while but it's our comfortable existence that is at risk.

A couple historical example significantly tied to climate change:
- Late Bronze Age Collapse
- Age of Migration (the Huns)
- The Mayan collapse
- The Viking Age
Of course those were the results of regional changes, not global ones.

Eco warrior Leonardo DiCaprio takes helicopter from yacht to dinner

Leonardo DiCaprio goes on and on about his environmental activism but he’s not above taking a helicopter from his yacht to land.

But the Oscar winner doesn’t always back up his beliefs.

The actor-activist is reportedly in Italy — more specifically, the waters near the Italian shore – where he is vacationing on his yacht, as celebrities do, according to German newspaper Bild.

For visits to the countryside, whether it be lunch or dinner or a nightclub, DiCaprio reportedly hops on a helicopter while aboard his luxury liner and heads to land — and back, of course.

La dolce vita at the expense of the environment? What would fellow celebrity climate activist Greta Thunberg say?

DiCaprio’s shore excursions are short and anything but green, making his speeches about reducing carbon emissions all the more sanctimonious.

While it could be argued that the actor wasn’t going to swim to shore, there are more environmentally friendly ways to travel, particularly for someone who preaches about stopping climate change and building a sustainable economic future.

In 2016, during the Cannes Film Festival, DiCaprio reportedly left the French Riviera by private jet for a brief trip to New York City — to accept an environmental award, the New York Post reported at the time.

He hopped back on another private jet the following day to attend a gala in Antibes, France — a reported 12.8 kilometres from the film fest — and nearly 13,000 kilometres of air travel in two days.

Even the most blatant climate hypocrisy of climate activists has long ceased
to have any impact on climate sheeple. It is next to impossible to convince them
zero-emission can only be attained after they burn away all of Earth's remaining
fossil fuel resources.

Or, when we are gone. Or substantially fewer of us. Truth is, if the most fervent of them were actually interested in saving the environment and planet….;)

Whether we are 3 degrees warmer or 5 degrees warmer. The planet will be just fine..it’s not going to be another Chernobyl ( 40 years later nature is flourishing)…

UK Energy Minister: We Will Produce 100% Of North Sea Oil And Gas
Jul 24, 2023

UK Energy Minister Grant Shapps says the British government intends to extract one-hundred percent of its North Sea oil and gas reserves and still achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, while the Labour Party has vowed to refrain from issuing any further exploration and production licenses if elected by January 2025.

According to Shapps, higher carbon emissions would result from reliance on foreign imports of oil and gas if the North Sea is abandoned. The energy minister has referred to the Labour Party’s stance against North Sea oil and gas as “madness”, criticizing the policy for making the UK vulnerable to the weaponization of energy, as it has been to Russia.

Labour Party leader Keir Starmer has stood firm on no new North Sea licenses, while Labour energy secretary Ed Miliband has warned that Shapp’s strategy would fail to improve UK energy security as well as reverse climate commitments.

In contrast, Labour leader Keir Starmer has pledged that his party will not grant any new North Sea licenses if they win the next general election. However, they would not revoke existing contracts. Shapps criticized this policy as “madness” and advocated for granting licenses for all viable oil and gas fields as long as they align with the net zero goals.

n 2021, the UK imported the bulk of its crude oil and natural gas liquids from Norway, taking in 13 million metric tons of crude oil and 1.7 million metric tons of natural gas liquids. Imports from the United States (~11 million tons combined) were the second largest in volume, followed by Russia, according to Statistica.com.

In 2021, UK imports of natural gas, oil and coal from Russia total 4.5 billion pounds (~$5.7 billion), falling to 1.3 billion pounds in the year to January 2023.

Sometimes wish they’d get what they wish for.
Alberta will never separate. Will they do all that can to disentangle themselves from the East, who don’t care.? getting rid of the RCMP, might be the first salvo, withdrawing from CPP the next ( and that will hurt the east)…would love to see them just turn off the taps. We all might remember what happened to eastern Ontario/Quebec not many years ago..

As for the EU. Yeah what a bunch of hypocrites when rooster comes home to roost…

Of course this doesn't mean climate change isn't a thing. It means people like some elephants are jerks.

A lot of people care and want something done... as long as it doesn't actually require them to do anything significant. Then you get those who have no fucks to give and deniers and people in poorer countries who don't really feel like wearing a hair shirt before they catch up to us.

What is going to happen is going to happen, at the most we could take the edge off slightly until the technology comes in and gets deployed to make an actual difference.

Maybe we should be looking somewhat into spending them ducats on withstanding the change.

The Guardian says the Gulf Stream will collapse in two years.

It isn’t clear why this is an issue, since the Guardian said global warming destroyed us three years ago.

The technology is here already.
We just have to do it.

In Sicily over the last few days the high temps have melted power cables under the road and large areas are without power.
The heat in the Mediterranean is crazy.

From your link: A collapse would bring catastrophic climate impacts but scientists disagree over the new analysis.

Scientists disagree over the new analysis?? But I thought the science was settled?!
The science is settled.
The discussion about how bad it will become is onging.
AMOC shutdown is a tipping point the models didn't think would happen for another 50 years but new measurements and models show that it could be happening right now.
Same science.

Ten years ago Al Gore became rich by selling his global warming television station to oil producers. Now he wants to shut down energy for the peasants while he flies around the world on private jets.
