Am I missing something? Was the ACA not implemented under Obama's tenure, despite all the opposition from the Far Right Tea Party?
Yes. But the GOP could only bitch. At one point Obama was Filibuster proof in the Senate. Could have passed Medicare for all. The Dems didn't despite his promises to do so. Instead the went with the right wing Heritage Foundation choice of subsidized private insurance. Without price controls.

Isn't that because the Dem Party itself wouldn't have passed Medicare for all, regardless of what Obama wanted to do?

Did you ever think that it might be politically impossible to institute single-payer universal health care in the US, given the strength of the health and insurance industry lobbies and the block opposition of the GOP and the Red States.

Just a thought.
Butler is an authoritarian.
Structural limits are just the kind of thing a strong leader would push through. (You can see it in the various political figures he likes.)

It isn't like Canada had to compromise about what our Medicare system looks like due to entrenched political interests after all...

So who are you going to vote for, Butler? Cornell West? RFK JR?

Those have been your picks so far.
Butler isn't a US citizen and won't be voting for anyone.
None of this matters to him - if you want to see how he would vote when there are actual stakes, ask him about Canadian elections.

Medicare is only for the elderly and disabled, while Medicaid was for the poor. Those above the poverty line and low income Americans were the ones that did not have any coverage.
Affordable healthcare offered these low income Americans a form of Insurance and no wonder that Millions of Americans were getting some sort of coverage. Biden even wanted to eliminate the caps of the 400% above the poverty level so as to make it even more Affordable. Of course this was opposed by The Republicans as they know that they are eligible for free taxpayer funded Healthcare for their own selfish means. The Republicans will stymie any effort to expand Medicare by lowering the age, especially as they tried to scrap the Affordable Healthcare and had no plans to replace it. Own up to this fact for once!!
You're asking him to look at the details of the political process or the actual effects of policies.
You saw his post in #43 - vibes is how truth is uncovered, he isn't going to start bringing out studies about the effects of the ACA or anything.

Hmm...ending American democracy by a 77 year old con artist fraudster vowing to turn the country into a totalitarian state, or, a decent guy with accomplishments but who's 80.
Tough choice.

Blame the Tea Party for everything under the Sun in their efforts to block The Affordable Healthcare!!
At least around 30 million Americans managed to then get this coverage. Something that they were deprived, under previous administrations!!
Otherwise, why did the likes of John McCain do the brave thing and leave his hospital bedside to prevent Trump from scrapping this Affordable Healthcare?

Except he had the majority.
