Not being able to get this one frustrated me more than any other. As I had made my two guesses already, went and checked the Cy Young History on baseball reference.... and all I can say is I can't believe I missed it. I was sniffing around in the wrong range of seasons. It was one of the more iconic seasons of that era in part due to the outlier, an era I remember more than others
If I had provided the season years, there would be no challenge that question.

Jeopardy! type game with those sorts of questions, maybe pitting a superfan against say, Bob Costas and Tony LaRussa would be interesting. In some cases, a specific number stands out, in others, a mental picture is formed of the player's athleticism, or lack thereof.
I used to keep a copy of
Who's Who in Baseball in the bathroom for dump reading, and I had competitive teams in Rotisserie Leagues from 1987-94, so I would do pretty well in this game for players in the late 1960's - mid 1990's era. I wouldn't get very many of the post 1970's hockey players.
