Who the fuck knows. Can't trust anyone calling you to sell you something. Too much scammers and fraudsters that you no longer know what is real and what isn't. Ignore them all and when you want to change providers or capitalize on a deal, make the call yourself.
Also, if they are calling you from some bullshit number, even if they are from a legit company, I tell them that the relationship is already starting on a lie, so no thanks.

Lately I've only had a few such BS calls. So I decided, If I answer these calls, to give them the ultimate telephone experience...a referee's whistle. It may not be nice but it feels so good! And they never call back either!

They're phishing for information about your current providers for TV, Internet or phone. After mentioning the promotion, (but not the cost), I'll bet the next thing they'll say is 'now your currect provider is XXXXXXX, is that correct?'. I answer with 'Why would that be any of your business?', and there's usually several seconds of silence before they hang up. It's pretty clear to me that they all learned a script, and they expect people to just give them their service provider information, because someone asked.
If they say they are from Rogers, I say: "Well, then tell me my account number before I speak any further with you."
After that they drop off the line fast, and it us usually a few weeks before those sort of calls start again.
Its the modern age version of whack-a-mole, but with no chance of wining a stuffed animal like at the CNE of our youth.

After their initial spiel I tell them I have to go to an important appointment but will call them back if they give me their telephone number. Usually they make an excuse not to give a number or its a 647 number which could be anyone.
When sanjaya (Ken from Rogers) from bangalore calls I ask what is Rogers' main phone number, they hang up.
I also tell the caller <deleted due to me not wanting to be put in the penalty box again>.
Good tip. My main beef is - these jokers call YOU and then expect to be able to talk over you. I just hang up...

Usually, I only get text messages that say "wish you were here" with pics of naked young women at the beach. LOL!
When the "Rogers" guy calls, I ask him "What is the main phone number to Rogers?" click

I usually don't answer but when I do I let them go through their whole spiel, then when they are finished I say "sorry I got distracted, could you repeat that?" They usually hang up, but if they start again I let them get about 1/2 way through then say no thanks and hang up.
Automatically block any bell or rogers number for years now, if anyone has a problem they can reach out via email
