Just venting as I know nothing will come of this. Been on hold with Rogers tech support for 40 minutes so far. Unable to login to Apple TV, rebooted modem several times, no luck. Checked Rogers website and no issues reported. Eventually googled it and said it's an ongoing issue. If Rogers would just put that on it's own website I would have just let it go, but now I'm committed after spending so much time on hold. Not really a big deal, it's a principle thing now. I really do detest Rogers.

You're lucky it has only been 40 minutes... :(

To be fair to the poor wretches who work at the call centers, their job is basically to provide 5/5 service in as little time as possible and never be wrong ever. The good ones figure out the game is rigged quick and as a result never last, they just get caught up in the monthly churn of employees coming and going. I personally would rather go through a third party reseller than any of the big three telcos. Been with Vmedia for years and have yet to experience any major issues, odd internet outage on extremely rare occasions

Yea... Rogers customer service has got to be one of the worst and when you do get through to them they are absolutely unhelpful no matter what and treat you like you're stupid
while the waiting time can be excruciating.....once i get through, i find them to be helpful, actually.....and dont think i ever was treated as stupid.....i guess i,ve gotten lucky over the years....

most customer service calls one makes via a phone call usually involves long wait times........i had an issue with Bell one time....and i live within walking distance to a mall which had a Bell store...so instead of phoning i just walked to the store and got the issue resolved...the customer service rep, suggested if i had another problem i should call or go on line....i kinda laughed and said ..ya, right on ...lol

Lucky I guess because I always get treated like an idiot when I call in with a problem which is more annoying than the wait times

As bad as they are Bell is even worse. At least in my experience. As consumers in Canada we have such limited options in our product and service choices. Cell phone, cable, internet, banking, grocers....the list goes on.

I was with Rogers for about 20 years. In later years, I had negotiated a discount on my service, which I only realized a year later never materialized. So I left them for Bell.
Rogers still comes and knocks on my door, trying to tell me about their new services.
I always tell them that I was with Rogers for 20 years and have decided to give Bell a try... Please come back to me in 20 years.

I had the same experience in reverse. After years of loyal service with Bell I contacted the customer retention department to request they don't increase my rates which they were trying to do. They had no interest in doing that so I left. Like clockwork every 6 months they contact me asking me to come back. I tell them to get fucked and they don't value my patronage. It's the same wherever you go because the market is monopolized and until that changes it is what it is.

We have 3 Rogers pvr boxes in the house. About a year ago we started to experience channel breakup and/or channel disappearence with a number of channels. They tend to be the same group of channels, and it happens on all 3 boxes. I contacted Rogers about 3 times over the past year or so, and asked for a visit by a technician to have a look. We tried all the possible solutions we could do on our own without success. They told me they no longer service the pvr boxes, and refused to send anyone. They kept trying to sell me the new service, despite the fact we want to keep what we have. Very disappointed with them.

yip, waiting on hold forever with Rogers is no surprise. I don't blame the front line tech staff as they try to be helpful. The big blame is on the overpaid CEOs and upper management for the poor customer service. Why not implement a call back option? I have given Rogers this suggestion every time I can. Many much smaller companies has this simple option. Im sure a multi $B company like Rogers can do this.

Duh I forgot. Rogers is too busy buying control of sports teams in TO and cutting staff across Canada.

I suggested this t

My building recently switched from Rogers to Bell and I've noticed their customer service is a bit better (as far as large conglomerates can be) but I may be biased because it's free in my building.
