After their initial spiel I tell them I have to go to an important appointment but will call them back if they give me their telephone number. Usually they make an excuse not to give a number or its a 647 number which could be anyone. If they say they are from Rogers, I say: "Well, then tell me my account number before I speak any further with you."
After that they drop off the line fast, and it us usually a few weeks before those sort of calls start again.
Its the modern age version of whack-a-mole, but with no chance of wining a stuffed animal like at the CNE of our youth.
I just say Parlez vous Francais? They hang up immediately. After their initial spiel I tell them I have to go to an important appointment but will call them back if they give me their telephone number. Usually they make an excuse not to give a number or its a 647 number which could be anyone.
When sanjaya (Ken from Rogers) from bangalore calls I ask what is Rogers' main phone number, they hang up.Who are these dudes (with a particular accent) who keep calling to offer me TV/Internet/Cell bundles? Are they employees of Bell or Rogers?
Good tip. My main beef is - these jokers call YOU and then expect to be able to talk over you. I just hang up...Lately I've only had a few such BS calls. So I decided, If I answer these calls, to give them the ultimate telephone experience...a referee's whistle. It may not be nice but it feels so good! And they never call back either!

Holy crap. I got a text that said the money is on its way by e-transfer. What money? Who are you?Oh and I get scam text messages recently. Just written in casual all small letters text - "will send you the money when i get home" or "just sent you the money can you check?" etc., to possibly prompt a reply.
